Hi,

My manager has asked me to looking to SEO for google products (google base) as we want to start trying to dominate it with a pool company we do work for.

I have googled "seo for google products" but that didnt help at all. Im sure that the SEO would be the same for google products as it would for any other google search but I though it would be best to do some research on it to be safe so....

The thing I would like a hand with is what extra SEO do we need to do to start ranking high in google products?

I don't understand what does SEo for Google products have to do with a pool company. do you mean SEO for the pool company.

I'm assuming this is related to getting a high ranking within Froogle?

Considering within the search results that users can filter by either relevance or price, you could always advertise the price excluding VAT to make it appear higher in the results when sorted by price ascending.  Not sure of the terms and conditions regarding this though!

I guess Google also does some keyword analysis on the product page to distinguish how relevant the webpage is as well as the title used for the product.

well when you list your products in Google Base, there are only so many thing YOU can control since Google maintains the database and webpages (ie. it's not YOUR site)

the main things i can recommend are:

> using keywords in your TITLES and descriptions
> but at the same time also writing titles and descriptions that are compelling to humans
> add pictures
> add all important info about you (location, tel numbers, etc)
> stick to Google TOS
