Hi all,s there any new (different) ways for promoting a website, rather then doing submissions. If so please help me with your ideas....

for me, basic seo is still the best method to promote website. just continue link building... online classified ads promotion, social bookmarking, blog commenting and don't forget the forum postings. ill guarantee you, you'll learn a lot in forums and at the same time, your site will gain good backlinks.

If it's not spam, posting the same question in different forums is pretty weak.

I think Web 2.0 will be really a good idea to promote your website. Webmaster got a great tool in the form of Twitter and if you able to capitalise this in a proper manner than you will be at winning position.

After that many reputed social bookmarking websites is also there which can send you tons of traffic ... you just need a good friend circle or channel at there.

After that Facebook, MySpace is also have potential ... but you should use as promoting not for spamming.

Yeah many people are using Web 2.0 and for spammers this one is like heaven. They are sending huge message across the board. I have facebook account and on daily basis I am getting almost 50 - 60 message in mu inbox.

But to use it you just have to make impression of yours and after that whatever you will tell they will follow you blindly.

I think you should mix the SEO and Web 2.0 together to get the traffic to your website. If your website have the topic which can interest the general public than web 2.0 is the best way to get the traffic.

But however there is no substitute for the traffic of search engines. If your website ranked on any keyword than you can get huge traffic and there is no other way through which you can get huge traffic.

You can try making video for your site and post it to youtube, Youtube is one of the most visited site right now...If you can create good quality video It can generate traffic for your site..

Well, the newest method seems to be twitter.

But, a lot of people do automatic blog postings with twitter keywords in them. So, your site does get mentioned elsewhere.

Aside from spammers and marketeers, the best approach is to have real chit chat about comment interests (which presumably revolve around your online business).
