   Your question is related to seo which has many aspects to it. Yes you will need to submit your site to search engines but if you keep strong in your link building then all search engines should get you indexed even if you didnt submit your url to them.

You will need to work on your meta description, title and contents. Make sure you put alt text for your pictures and try to keep links as text links.

Use directory links and also try and build relevent links for your site. Post on blogs and forums which are dofollow

The contents on your website should be unique and not duplicated

if you all know the basics of SEO, things about keywords, backlinks, creating good content and everything you read about websites then your good to go, but one biggest traits you should have is Patience.. Indeed.. SEO is a monotonous job so you need a lot of patience and dedication.

IMO, a good SEO professional keeps track on minor issues of websites like their headings, footers etc. when doing SEO optimization he should analyze the website and try to mold it into a shape which can allow more traffic flow into the website. He should also have good online searching and researching abilities and the patience to do so.

Only submitting to search engines will not help for any SEO experts.If you want o become SEO expert thn you need to know about on-page optimization and off-page optimization these to are the basic and main building blocks for any SEO. So first learn these two tings and you will get the idea about what is SEO and all.

for me, doing seo requires analytical skill, hardwork and patience. analysis is important in seo because an seo specialist should analyse not only his website but his competitors as well because they have already established their websites in search engines. hardwork is important because in seo, there are lot of works to be done. in seo, we have to link build, communicate with other webmasters, monitor the links and the positioning of the keywords, etc. these tasks are the effective ways in seo and we have to take it seriously. lastly, an seo specialist should have lot of patience because seo work takes time to see the outcome of the hardwork.

Ypu should be a good tester to note trivials issues of the site and be a good developer to see all the mistakes in code.

Patience is Virtue, you gonna need that in SEO... Because in SEO result can be frustrating it may take some time before you see the result..

I think there is no qualities allowed for you to become SEO Analyst, as long as you know the techniques and how to get higher rankings in search engine..

Knowing the techniques and the knowledge and expertise to get higher rankings are also qualities which everyone do not have.

So you cant say that a SEO requires no qualities. I disagree with you on this, as I strongly feel that every job requires different skills and qualities to perform that job effectively and efficiently.
