it brings up my "about us' page. but i cant find my home page anywhere, my home page was the one that was optimized the best, this morning when i searched google for the term "Gold coast fishing charters" i was at poition 3, now i cant find my page anywhere. I used to come up at number 1 for search term True blue fishing charters. if my site had been dropped or banned, would all of my pages disapear or just the home page?

page 1 position 7 on an Australian based search. Don't worry, these ranking changes happen all the time. The only time to worry is if after a week or so you have not bounced back. Then undo your last SEO changes. Keep a diary of things you do so you know what caused the changes in the first place

Sounds to me like you got yourself a data center shift. I wouldn't stress to much. Google has thousands of data centers, all supposedly updated with the same info but some are slower than others or have different rankings. all in all i am not entirely sure how the things work, from what i have seen though, your problem is usually caused by pulling info from a different DC than usual.

This is the very reason I just joined this forum. My site below has been getting tremendous traffic from google under the search term craigslist.com, then two days ago it dropped off the end of the earth.Yesterday it was back for an hour or two then poof, gone again. Today an hour or two and it pulled a Houdini. It has been driving me nuts, going over everything I have done. I even got the straight jacket out and had the wife wash it in case.
Now that I read this thread, the nerves are softening somewhat. I only hope that this is the problem in my case and not something with the site that is causing it.
Can anyone offer reassurances?
Thanks,
Paul
