Awesome! But, like he said, collecting the money is not a simple task, which means most of the spammers are still coining it and just hiding their money elsewhere. I reckon the judge should throw them in jail with rapists, freeze all their accounts indefinitely and use the gross total of those accounts to compensate affected businesses. They should make a spam CSI
Hunt the bastards down.

I hate spam... But I accept it as part of doing business.on the internet. I have even been accused of being a spammer for creating a Do Follow Forum List on my blog. Even though the clearly pointed out that the list was not created for this purpose and it encouraged people to leave useful comments. It was quit an amazing experience.
All we can hope for is better spam filters.

Ah, Laurie! Your poor nose!
I think spam and junk mail should be made criminally illegal. Really bothers me that lawyers and money are needed to bust the creeps. I know e-business has room for spam as a valid marketing method, but I disagree with that even. Give me a choice, if I want your e-mail or not. Stop assuming simply because I e-mailed you, I obviously wanted to be put on your spam list. Or, the one that ticks me off more -- simply spam me without any contact from me first.
My method of constantly reporting the spam to the USA's Federal Trade Commission seems to do nothing. At this point in time, the spam annoys me enough that I'm even reporting my Senator, and a few of the larger companies here. I really thought that contacting the creeps and calling them "morons" for sending me unwanted e-mail would have gotten through to them. Alas, if it did, the politicians would have found real work, (or actually do the job they were voted in to do), and the large companies would fear being reported.
Still?! Way too much spam out there for one nose to take, Laurie.
