latest weeze from google
beta testing where you get to choose just how much description text is shown alongside a search result
Web: Result details: S M L
S shows no description
M shows a 161 character description
L shows a 638 character description
therefore allowing users to customize their search results.

yuppers.... Google is big on personalization these days... had that test a while back with the Digg style 'thumbs up/down' experiment as well.
They break it down essentially in two camps;
Implicit data; from actions a user takes... such as interaction with SERPs, query selection and bounce rates, interaction with advertising... etc..
Explicit data; which is direct interactions such as bookmarking, thumbs up, this experiment or other tagging/annotation type of interaction.
Not only can this potentially improve relevance, but make life harder on spammers as even the aggregate of categorized data and user types can ultimately improve over-all SERPs not just personalized results (in theory).
I wonder what the implementation ratio is on these experiments though? Seems many don't resurface IMO
