Hi all,
Last week I attended an internet seminar, I asked the speaker about my website which is currently hosting with an Australian hosting company ( the website is rank well on Google.com.au and yahoo.com.au on 1 st page for a number of key phrases) I plan to use the web hosting in USA. I asked him if I do it , would I lose the ranking on Australian SE's. He advised that I could have my website hosted both in USA and in Australia (I forgot to ask him that if I could do it with 2 different website hosting companies or must be the same company which has branches overseas ).
Is it true that I can have web host in 2 different countries for the same website and the same domain name?
When I transfer webhosting to a new company, do I have to transfer my domain name hosting to that company as well?
Many thanks for your answer!

you only need one host
Why are you changing - cost?
Why not register a .com.au domain and keep the au hosting and maybe host in the US for the .com
I have .com.au sites hosted in the US and do fine on G and Y on the AU search results - easy given the small market here compared to .com domains

Yes, it is true that you can have your website hosted on multiple servers around the world - many of the big internet companies do this, Google being the most obvious with everyone connecting to their nearest server by default
Its usually called "load-balancing" or "co-location" or "geo-something or other"
It's not straight forward to set up
Somehow you need to send the US internet traffic to the US server and AUS traffic to the Australian server......
......and account for all the other countries/IP ranges
I've dabbled with DNS load balancing, but that is almost random which server traffic gets sent to and is for load balancing rather than geo-locating

If I understand your concern correctly, you just want to make sure you don't lose any ranking with Google by moving the .au address. Google doesn't care where the server is. As long as the domain name stays the same, you could move the actual web pages to any server. You just have to point the domain name to the new server. You could have a problem with your domain name provider though if it's the same company that currently provides your web service. Sometimes they may make it difficult to transfer to another provider.
If you choose to maintain the pages on two separate web servers, you will have to make sure to copy your updates to both each time, and your rankings will not naturally flow into the new site.

G'day Stella.
I've noticed you asking questions around this general idea over several weeks. I'm going to address what I think you are really chasing.
1) I suspect you are having trouble getting traffic and have somewhere picked up the idea about having the site hosted geographically, being an issue.
I'd suggest that this is a small issue. What you may gain by making the change would not be worth the effort. Your problems lie else where.
2) You appear to have an affiliate site. Correct?
Your content is duplicated on multiple sites. Other duplicate sites have better SEO and so beat you in the SERPs.
3) I did a search (besides a few others) on "In CurvyseaŽ online boutique you will find a range" with the quotes. This is a line from your site.
I got three results for that line of text but none of them was your site.
I then clicked on each result, in turn, but couldn't find the line of text on the page that I visited. A closer look showed that I'd been redirected to a different site altogether in each case. Same thing for other searches that I did on lines from your site.
There appear to be dozens of duplicate copies of your content out there.
4) Given the redirects that I discovered, there have been some pretty clued up SEO guys working on your competing sites. Unless you're prepared to spend thousands of bucks on an equally clued up SEO guy, you may never succeed.
Now Stella, I think you should get an appraisal from someone who knows a bit more about these things than I do.
I hope that's not too great a blow to you. It's not my intention to hurt you. I'm working in the dark, here because you haven't given us much to go on, so maybe I've got it all wrong. But the nature of your questions suggests that you are way out of your depth with your competition.
Of course, sometimes competent webmasters come to SR with dumb questions, making out they're newbies, just to get backlinks. But I don't think that's the case here.
Best wishes,
Laurie.

First of all, thanks for the members' answers except Laurie.
You think my "dumb" question is intentionally to get back links for my site? How? Sorry I'm not "as smart as" you are that I can get back links with nothing link or hyperlink to my website in my question. Yes, my question is dumb to you because I'm a learner. Put it this way, if I have a bit of knowledge about the difference between "organic " and " "sponsored" link, I would laugh at someone when she asks me what the organic search/link is.
The reason I post the same question across the web including yahoo, .... because no one has given me a solution for my problem, it's not spamming, my questions are posted in public forum with no hidden text, no related keywords, just general questions and nothing related to the nature of my website.
I try to explain to you that i am not as you think. Maybe you know too much about black hat, white hat....so you think all people around you are trying to do bad things!!!!!!
I do not have to deny anything to you but just put yourself into other people's shoes, who are still learning on the worldwide web, are knocked back by people like you. Thanks but no thanks, Laurie!

Well, Stella/Cindy,
I sure do have the unfortunate knack of pushing people's buttons. Sorry about that.
You now have the option to sulk or get over it.
I've deleted the second of my two posts, on the expectation that it's the one that would have caused the offense. Don't know what more I can do.
Ya know, I put quite a bit of time into researching your website. I'd suggest that the direction of investigation that I initiated would be of greater value than the total of all the advice you've got from various Google Groups, Yahoo Answers and SR, combined.
So maybe you'd like to read it again, in a different frame of mind. Just, maybe, there's something there of value, huh?
Regards,
Laurie.

Hi stell99
Some friendly advice from a learner such as yourself - Most of the guys here will put in a lot of time and effort to help- sometimes they may come across a bit brash but as a guest and a member of this site for a few years I have yet to come across any bad advice .
laurie_m has some valid points which need to be thought of before worrying about host spread all over the world.
i did the same search from the uk and got the same answers, 2 of the 3 sites are looked afer by a company in the uk.maybe look at the competiton to see how unique your content is and find keywords that you are not competing against
your 1st keyword is swimware
Results 1 - 10 of about 34,300,000 for Swimwear
your 2nd is swimware
Results 1 - 10 of about 13,300,000 for Swimsuits
As your prodcuts are for Plus size I would concentrate on this area
Good luck
