Website for Review

Additional Comments
I own a few sites and went for this one for the occasion of Earth Day '08. I initiated a week long campaign in my company and this was a part of it. I request you to suggest enhancements so that the site can be made to reach more people and deliver the message. This site is minimally monetized to keep the message clean.
I wish to build communities and discussion boards and provide weekly or monthly feeds to subscribers too.
Please comment not just on design, any ideas welcomed.
Thanks in anticipation,
Cipher

Hello Cipher...I'm almost speechless...the marketing side is very subtle - I like it!
The Doc Type Dec should be at the top of the page.
Check the spelling in your meta description (actually, even the word description is spelt incorrectly) - very important.
Change the meta description and keywords according to each page too...don't use the same ones.
I'm using Opera as my preferred browser these days, and something is a little out of whack on the right hand side of your home page...not a big problem as it looks fine in Explorer...one of the other guys might be able to check your code...that's not my forte.
Very interesting.
All the best with it,
Elizabeth
Thank you over the concept and design... am happy.
Need some suggestions as to what to do next? I am stuck.

Beautiful site - love the colours and layout
Typo on the Myths page : Read out instead on Read on.
Great tips - would highly recommend the site

Hmmm to me the site (home page) does not work - it looks kinda cottage industry at the low end, which of course might be what you are aiming for.
The Design to me is incomplete - I think some sort of border around the main content and the green page background.
I'd try to keep the tow side columns the same with to create balance - this will help keep the partial earths the same cut off . Either than or make them complete and arrange them one on the other vertically.
Maybe think about making the main text green slightly darker to improve contrast and therefore readability
The earth posters links - they are not really posters so I would think of describing them differently. And have the open in a new window.
Part of the main page says that the site is worded simply, but the main page has some quite convoluted sentences that need to be simplified. For example:
"People are not good at making immediate sacrifices for an abstract benefit in the future, specially when they do not completely understand the problem."
From my days as a science journo I can say with 100% assuredness that unsubstantiated claims will lose your reputation and any hope of convincing people to your argument.
So this "Global warming is an evil" - A human can have evil intents, but not a planet or an event.
I strongly suggest citing all sources, statistics and claims to add weight to your argument.
I would also look at some of the benefits of global warming - will there be increased rainfall in currently semi-arid areas, Will some areas currently too cold for food production be the new food bowls of the world??
A balanced site will have greater impact.
Thank you Matte,
These are really good points to get me started. I will look into all the matters deeply and hopefully will be able to improve upon the content and design.

I thought it looked great!
Great topic and there is currently a "go green" movement! I personally think that your site pops. The template and colors are very appealing. But the PR doesn't register? If you want your site to reach more people, increase the PR by building backward links. By the way, the directory is a good idea. I have a gossip blog and webmasters frequently request a one-way directory link exchange.
Hi Cipher,
You are doing a good job by launching a website to save Earth for human race. Please add more links regarding, what we can do or should do to save the planet.
Regards.
Nice but not too professional.

A very good site.
Clearly something you are passionate about.
Some information or links to your sources of information would be helpful for example:
Ditch the Plastic
2.5 million individual plastic water bottles are thrown away every hour in the US. Start using a reusable water bottle and just say no to plastic.
Where does that type of information come from? A report of some form? More detail would be good.
THANK YOU Bloomin..
Yes, I will be doing a lot on this site and adding content also in near future... right now I am also organising some event in my comapny and will soon also be launching a forum.

Really nice site, and a noble cause to.
I would just like to recommend to re encode the jpg image with higher quality on the index page (the two globes), you can see the encoding artefacts a bit too much. Also the font for text is not my favorite, I am a fellow user of the sans-serif font for a more professional look, but again, that's only my tast and should not be taken as a bad critic.
Fantastic theme just a few suggestions
do some green color in logo [add a plant/leaf image]
in the middle:
Definition & Causes
Effects
Myths
How to Act
looks a bit odd [make it look like a nav bar]
add some more content on index [give the visitor a reason to stay on page]
I've a question:
I love GO GREEN theme websites. But I want to know is it a highly competitive niche like finance/webmaster/travel?
Hi
Really nice clean website design.
Uncluttered and easy to see what its about.
I love the main image of a green avenue together with your statement, "I love earth".
Your how to act page is very useful.
How to improve ?
Difficult to say, as its already good.
Maybe your how to act could have some kind of user
interaction ? Like adding a comment page so people could say what they have implemented and how and how else they have reduced energy consumption ?
Best regards - good work.

Great website, love the clear colors and the easy to use navigation and the well-structured contents. How to improve is hard to say as it seems to be so perfect. Maybe the site could survive without ads. But you have done a great job. Kerstin from Germany
design is a little bland, but that's not a negative - it's actually good. The actual content of your site uses a lot of javascript I noticed, I didn't test it out but it may not be accessible. You should make sure it degrades properly otherwise your users may not see the content and leave. Fortunately you didn't hinder the SEO on this because content can still be read by spiderbots since the content isn't hidden in javascript, just divs.

Thats a nice site on a nice topic. Maybe you could make a few videos and post them on to youtube to get members interested in your site. Where to go from here is down to you. If you want to help the environment for instance then you could raise funds and spread the word. Maybe start of by raising funds to pay for leaflet droping which will educate people how to do their bit to help the environment.
I am only able to write a review from a novice point of view. Love the page layout. Colors and the way the site flowed. I can see the work that went into it and I appreciated the media you used to teach how greenhouse gases cause global warming. It was very good but I would look into a auto start on the viewer like a slide show. People will skip clicking to start on this very informative work of art.
Up front I see nothing to lead me to know why I am here. It says to get involved but a real call to action is missing or buried. Where is the site going is it just making a statement. Is there something I can actually do about the earth starting on fire as you have in shown in one of your posters.
I think with people you will need to lead them a little more to the end game and maybe have a end game. Are you selling something, do you want me to go to your store. Is this just informational. What do I do next I was thinking I need to go look for asbestos overalls. I did not find them on your site so I searched google
As I said just a novice
so i tried to give you my actual impressions:)
