Rotating banner images, best system?

My site has four main related topics. I was thinking of trying a new banner, one main image then four to represent each of the others. Does this make any difference to download speeds? I assume not as the first image downloads as normal then the others download but don't need to be seen until some time later. Have any of you done this? What was the best system?

Thanks

Hey Korat,

in my experience dynamic banners do take a little longer but depending on the animation...possibly not much

and since dynamic banners usually get more attention it's probably worth it

in any case...give it a try tummenupp

Re: Rotating banner images, best system?

Do you want a banner that rotates constantly or just changes when the page is refreshed? if its the latter you can do one easy peazy in php... if its the prior you should have a squiz around hotscripts (google it) - You will find banners that do weird and wonderful things blinka ... do bare in mind though that you will be loading all 4 images at once as opposed to one banner per page. Slower but as Nic put it, the attention may be worth it.

Re: Rotating banner images, best system?

All you need is a software like Banner Maker Pro 6. It is a simple software but great in making banners with a lot of animations to choose from. It has an option for rotating banners. In the Menu just click HTML/JAVASCRIPT/COMPRESS > Create Banner Rotator.. I have been using version 6, but it has a new version and you can try it free from a safe trusted site like download.com.. Here is the link click here
