Hello AM,

As far as blogs go there really isn't a whole lot to review. I do have some comments for you though.

With the light green text on the white background it is on the tough side to read. The same goes for the white text on the light blue background and the green text in the footer. Work out the text colors with colors you already use to add more contrast - making it easier to read. Try not to have a completely new color, too many colors will become distracting.

I would also remove the claim that the site is best viewed with FireFox. FF is a superior browser over IE, however people do not like seeing statements like this. You need to make sure the website is viewable in both FF and IE as well as the other popular browsers. Minor differences are acceptable but you don't want to make features unavailable completely.

In your footer you claim your code to be xhtml valid, you have 78 errors and 3 warnings on your home page.

I guess I would like to see a clear call to action, what is this site really about?  Nice graphics and I think you are almost there, but I did find myself wondering what is the "bullseye" point of this site?  I think you will keep visitors longer if this is crystal clear on your landing page.

I didn't understand what the focus and purpose of your site was either, even after reading all of the posts on the home page. After I read your first post here I know, but I wouldn't have thought of it when first visiting your site. I also don't understand the point of the "What's The Smell" slogan that is used in the page title and logo. I also think that the website domain name, accidentalmommies.com, is going to make people think that the blog is only intended for mothers that had a child by "accident", thus driving away all other mothers. I think the concept of your blog is entertainment and help for mothers, which is good, but you need to expand your reader audience to have better success, and this involves changing your domain name and focusing more on help and advice for mothers more than entertainment. I am not trying to be harsh, I'm just trying to help. I wish you luck and success!

Hello accidentalmommies, i liked WHAT THE SMELL i thought it was original and catchy i thoughty it gave your site a personality,meaning quite a few things i found the content entertaining once i got into it. In the beggining i thought it was kinda all over the placepointwise.But  once reading  i enjoyed the content  and even though i wasn,t a mom i could still relate to a lot of things glad your goal is not to be another mom site.I think once you get on all your ducks lined up you will do very well seems like you have a basic game plan that will only get better. wish you the best .Larnell @www.weightloss-dreaming.com.Also compliment you on trying to get review for your site .hopefully i,ll get to that level myself stay positive..

I think I'm finally ready for a review - [bracing myself].....

The site is basically a blog with some helpful resources for moms.  I hope to expand what I have and branch off beyond the shopping and paid survey resources but I wanted to have some quality content of a few things rather than just tiny pieces of a bunch of things.

One question I have is about the static front page in lieu of the blog being the front page.  I went back and forth about it and obviously currently I have one (a static front page).  I felt it necessary to provide an intro of sorts and hoped the sidebars would carry it.  Eventually I hope to have a better organized product reviews section (right now it's within the blog only) and the same for retailer reviews.  The free paid survey guide needs some tweaking so it stands on it's own better, but I think overall it's far enough along to get some feedback.
