Well, I upgraded my WordPress blogs the other day to version 2.5. It all sounds pretty good with the new features:

*  Gallery
*  Multiple image uploads
*  Search pages as well as posts

But the image upload doesn't work. Not much good to a photographer, huh?

The WP forum is full of it with people suggesting hacks.

A WP moderator gave an explanation that it was because some people don't do the upgrade correctly.

Boulderdash! I upgraded using Fantastico in my control panel. Surely Fantastico has got the hang of properly doing upgrades. Fantastico always did a fantastic job for me in the past.

So I created a brand new blog using Fantastico. I didn't change a thing in the code. Didn't even change the theme. Same problem! It's got nothing to do with the upgrade. It's a problem with WP Version 2.5.

Well, I've got back to roughly where I was, after much hard slog. Back to Version 2.2.2. Everything is working fine, just as it always did in the past.

I'll be waiting till Version 2.5.1 is developed, released and well and truely tested by others before I jump in again.
