Social media marketing, social marketing, or social bookmarking are all nearly same things, in these you create and share your liked and disliked content (pics, videos, pages, etc) to your network. eg Digg, stumbleupon, reditt, furl are all social media networking sites,
whereas Social networking means network building sites such as orkut, hi5, etc which allow you to interact with people and build communities.

so broadly categorizing, the classification would be-
Social media bookmarking                      and                   social networking
to avoid any confusion.
