Linking Question

Hello to all,

I have a site that sells audio content. In effort to promote my site, I've written audio related articles and distributed them to article sites like Searchwarp, AC Content,  GoArticles, and Buzzle.

So my question is, (in an effort to benefit my website)  if I make a link for Searchwarp on my Links Page, should this link go directly to the article that I wrote on Searchwarp, or.....should this link point to Searchwarp's main page?

Thanks in advance
Charles Outlaw

Re: Linking Question

Aloha outlawmu, you seem to have it backwards. The idea is to get links pointing to your site, ideally each article would be unique and highly relevant to your sites content.

Re: Linking Question

Hey Charles

to expend on WaveShoppe... you want to include your website's URL in your bio that accompanies the articles you right

that way when your articles get picked up by other sites there will be a link to your site

that's what you want= others sites linking to you

you do not want your site linking to other sites (well that's not exactly true, you can link out but for the sake of this story you don't)

so if you want to include your articles on your own site do so, but do not link out to other sites that have your articles

make sense?

whaaaaa???? Even for this story bro.... outbound links to an authoritative/relative document(s) can actually strengthen the pages scoring by the search engines. Rarely a 'bad' idea....

trying to make a point for the sake of his question without confusing the matter or having to talk about the whole spectrum of links and link building

but yes, Gypsy is right

Re: Linking Question

well, to authority sites, sure, and although those article dirs have good PR etc, I do wonder how authoritative they are in his niche ... still, linking from your own site to your own articles in those dirs wouldn't be too bad ...

Hi Gipsy ;-)

Aloha Michiel,
This is just my personal opinion but I think that there would be more benefit if the original poster hosted the article on their site. Toss in a little segmentation and a few select internal hyperlinks into each article and you have winner. I hate giving up original and relevant content so I guess that is why I think that linking out to your own article is a bit counter productive. If its indeed linking back to your site you are essentially doing a link exchange with yourself.

Now what gypsy said about linking out to an authority has a ton of merit, as long as it is indeed an authority on the matter.

Sawadee Krap Charles big_smile

well, I wouldn't suggest to link to your own articles, but if you do, then better to link to your article then just the site, as that what he asked ...

cheers,

Michiel
