Hi, can anyone recomend a useful website for obtaining fonts. I only have a need now and then for a specific font and as individual fonts it would be too costly for me to buy the packages, one often see's. I have of course used Google (dare I say so) for find fonts and depsite many attempts at locating free fonts I get search results that prmoise free fonts, which invartiably turn out to be anything but. Two fonts in particular that i would like to source include Bebo & New Yorker (not to be confused with New York).
Thanks

G'day Colin. Thought we'd lost you, Mate.
If you're using the less known fonts for graphics, that's OK. But if you're using uncommon fonts for the text on your page, then your viewer won't have the font installed on their computer, so their browser will default to Times New Roman. Not a good idea.
If you're creating graphics text, then the programme should have all the fonts that you need. I use a free programme. I haven't got near enough fingers and toes to count the fonts, but I guess it would be in excess of 100. And then I can use the fonts in many different styles of graphic text.
The programme that I use is the GIMP. It's a fair lump of a programme. There would be free graphic text programmes available that would have all the fonts you could possibly want.
Did that hit the spot or did you have something else in mind?
Regards,
Laurie.

You might also like www.fontmarketplace.com.
You can browse for fonts in unique categories like personality and they have an innovative single user license so the cost is much less for high quality fonts.
Unfortunately you will have to hunt commercial font libraries for it. Do a search on Google.
