which do you prefer??
I am looking to improve user satisfaction and at the same time reduce the need to move around the site so much to reach a purchase decision.
Due to the product, samples are important and currently prospective purchasers need to visit a new page to see the sample.
So a traditional way might be view samples and the visitor goes to a page with the samples. Then even though they have a link to buy now on that page they get a little lost.
This page is the look of a page that has samples on it (in this case customers with their caricatures)
Now try clicking the Customer's caricature pics link in the LH nav and a new smaller window opens - this is the new system I am looking at implementing. So on an artists info page there will be a link to view samples, but they will stay on the same page.

I prefer the old page- to me it just has a nicer feel to it
but if you do go with the new one don't call it "Customer's caricature pics" > call it what it is > "Samples"

Samples, hmmm but they are not samples, there are other samples on pages - these are customers with their caricatures.

I like the old way and with a bit of image optimization, so will Google.

The google aspect of it I can live without - visitor numbers are good and overall the sample pages help, but just a bit, to visitor numbers. Now time to work on conversions, hence looking at improving the customer experience and efficiency to get them to the cart.
But I am listening!
So far two on the other side of my assumption.
A bit more background as to why I am drawn to this method of showing images - I should add that adding new pics or in fact doing a new batch takes almost no time with the flash version, and I can have many more images without making a page very long or creating additional pages in html.
