Aloha trpjan, there is no “universal algorithm” so every search engine will give you slightly different results.  Generally speaking, stay focused on Google and you should do well in the smaller search engines. But I do have a question, what country are you targeting?

While there is no quick answer anything can be achieved, its just a matter of how much you are willing to put into it the processes. I asked about your target country because your site appears to be geared towards AU customers. One of the first, and maybe most important things you should be doing is word and phrase research. If I was trying to rank “opal jewelry” in the USA, I would use the USA spelling. But I think you will get what I am saying without a bunch of rambling.

Another thing to research is shipping (exporting) to other countries. Say what Charles? Yep, while it sounds like a weird thing to bring up its worth looking into. You sell valuables and jewels and many countries and shippers have restrictions on those items. In example United States Postal Service wont ship valuables to AU because your country don’t allow them to. So my words of wisdom are that you do your homework before you try to tackle the global markets.

Yes  i understand what you mean. To be honest i only found out the other day  that the word jewellery / jewelry is spelt different in america than it is here in Australia.  I realise that  its those differences from one country to another is what will make the difference for my web site.
Information i gather can be very conflicting  and  i guess in the end  its up to me to sort it all out lol.
  I will go on and do some more   reading research etc and talk to some of my friends in different countries.  Thank you for your sugjestions etc  they are most welcome.
