Web Tools - Quirk.biz Search Status tool
I hope I chose the right section for this question. Before posting this, I did do a search but could not find anything regarding this tool...
There are just sooo many tools on the web, from which you get sooo many different results for the same query!
The Search Status tool from Quirk.biz which is an extension to Firefox browser. I have been using it and kinda like it. My question here is quite simple... does anyone know this tool as being a good one or am I being misled and getting wrong results?

Re: Web Tools - Quirk.biz Search Status tool
Can't say I am familiar with it.... so let's look at the offering;
For every site you visit using, SearchStatus lets you view its;
Google PageRank, --- mostly useless and publically available
Google Category, --- not sure what this is
Alexa popularity ranking, --- pretty useless metric
Compete.com ranking, --- ok, but shows inaccurate data on smaller traffic sites
Alexa incoming links, --- midly usefull
Alexa related links -- pretty much useless
backward links from Google, Yahoo! and MSN. --- handy but publically available
In the end many of the metrics have liitle real use and are public.... I would certainly consider cross referencing to ensure data quality.
What is it you are looking to establish?

Re: Web Tools - Quirk.biz Search Status tool
I have the 'highlight no follow links' on and it's pretty interesting when viewing a page. Again, I'm still learning about this no follow; meaning, purpose etc. Some directories have all their links 'no follow' and am still searching why etc.
The functions 'highlight keywords' and 'keywords density' and some others I find useful also. What I like is that the tools are confined in one easy to reach area.
What I am trying to establish is to find a few good tools. As there are so many outthere and since I am new to this scene, in the last months I have been trying a ton of them, including some I found reading this forum. But it is so hard to determine which tell the truth and which give bogus results!

Re: Web Tools - Quirk.biz Search Status tool
the no follow in directories mean the directory is a lying cheat son of a B%@!H who wants you to link to them, but won't provide a proper link back to you - So the get the one way link value)
I send abusive emails back when they ask for a link!

That is what I thought the no follow was. What I don't get is what good does it do to them? I came across directories that are 'all' no follow listings. What advantages is it for a directory to do that?
This Search Status extension in FireFox highlights all no follow and I found that there's a lot of it out there.

After rereading matte's answer, I guess he had answered... they get a one way link. That is very cheasy.
