A newbie saying hello!

Hello everyone!

I have just registered and I am also new to SEO. I published my site a few weeks ago and have been studying and reading sooooo much.

I thought joining a good forum would definitely help me, and hopefully I can also help someone!

The first one I can help here is "wyldeflower" looking for pics of wildlife... I currently live in the jungle of Belize (I am on solar and satellite internet) and have great pics of some residents around my house... Can you insert a pic in a post?

I will also ask for "Site Review Please!"  I've asked friends and family, but all they say is.... hooo, it's so nice!!!!!  Not exactly what I'm looking for roll !!!!

I am looking forward to reading lots of the topics, so many I am interested in.

Welcome aboard MonkeyGirl, applause

If you haven't already, spend some time in the seo threads. Lot of great information in there.

I don't want to go against the forum rules by doing a review early.
I did take a look at your website. Definitely has room for improvement.

Re: A newbie saying hello!

Thanks ColoEagle!

I am sure my site has LOTS of room for improvement...

I will be reading lots, as I have been doing for quite a while. There's so much to read out there, but also so much contradictions...

I did analyses with different tools and get different results such as; meta title some say should be no more than 60 characters, others 110 characters... which is which?  So I go in the middle for 90!

And so many other things that some say go one way and someonelse will say don't go that way!!!

The web is a confusing world all right glad

lol you got that right. The most important thing to remember is that what works for one site may not work for your site.

Start with the basic stuff and then as you advance try different things until you find the one that works for you. Do things one step at a time. Don't change several things all at once. Changing several things will create more work for you.

Example, If you change four things and your results drop, how do you know which change may have caused the problem.

I have four simple rules that I work with.

1. Change and monitor results
2. Results improve then keep the change
3. Results don't change or get worse,
4. Change and monitor results.
