Website for Review

Additional Comments
Ok. Please review this site. I kind of feel funny asking for this review because I was more confused doing this site then I thought I would be. After listening and reading to all of you for the past few months I didn't know that it would be difficult to adjust to using one of the site building programs that come with your hosting. I have imported the files to my computer and am still working on re-creating it using both dreamweaver and Expression Web (that's my mental practice for the month) The one that is here is the one done completely with the site builder. ( Haven't figured out how to get all the sub page links on one line, it seems to only let you put one link per paragraph) Thanks to all of you.

Re: Please Review - http://www.blueeyeswebservices.com
Nice site,

I was impressed with the design and layout.
Since you are reworking it I will fore go the tech y code stuff.
One comment about the home page - the footer links blend too much with the background making them nearly impossible to read.
One comment about the site map - the links look funny off to the right and staggered.
(Is this the problem you mention?)

Are you wanting to have these as list items or paragraphs? or is this a problem with the site bulder template?
One more question - Are you going to keep the images for your menu links or will you be changing them to CSS?
The only way to discover the limits of the possible is to go beyond them into the impossible

Re: Please Review - http://www.blueeyeswebservices.com
Oh I am definitely redoing it all with .css
The site map is automatic with the template and you get the choice of showing it or not but you don't have a way of editing it. The links on the bottom I think think should change also but again I haven't figured out where in the site builder to do this. ( you don't get to see any code until you publish it and then if you add something using another program it get's deleted when you go back into the editor)
I guess these site builders are good if you haven't experianced any html editing, or code (or haven't been to this forum yet), but I think that if you have done any other type of editing the site builders do get a bit frustratin.
Like I said this was just to see what people are talking about, although they do have some very nice templates.
To create a page you click on create then it gives you a list of pages you can create. site map (automatic text, no editing allowed) contact page,(some editing). The you have create blank or generic page. Blank page is that, a blank page (like a word document) but this page you can't put in navigation table. Generic is automatically listed in navigation, if you have sub pages then you have to add a separate paragraph so that you can link them. See on the web design page, paragraph one has link for prices (can't change size or insert image) and the the next paragraph has free templates subpage listed. If I want to put these two links together on one line I can't.
Sorry to be so long winded about this.
Ha the next thing is to test out the builder that came with another hosting. Learn Learn Learn...........

Re: Please Review - http://www.blueeyeswebservices.com
Hi,
I am using Firefox and the design and layout did not appear to work properly.
I think you have good content and a clear message. I was not sure about the 'General Policy' with the image of the office Diva.
I will try the site using explorer to see if it makes any difference to the look and feel of the site.

Blessed love, I dont know about programing or HTML, but I can tell you that the site look good and the information is at hand in a clear way. I dont like the white beind the text becouse of the red background, I would try something like pink-red.

The pupose was to show some interesting templates. Eventually I will be redoing the site in div and style sheets but by using the website builder program you do not have much control over that. so please give me short time to finish some other projects and then I will be redoing this. Thank you for your suggestion.

The layout isn't too bad, but I noticed that the links on the side are hard to read with the background.

Re: Please Review - http://www.blueeyeswebservices.com
I dont like this site, the layout and the buttons are very old style and all over the place
I dont like the 2 eyes at the top, they are very disctracting and should be removed.
the menu at the bottom of the page is stuck to the side of the container it is in and really should be restlyed to suit the page.
Also the background of the centre section of the page would benefit from being white. It currently looks like it is still waiting to load the middle bit but then .. well nothing happens.
Also on thew home page, remove the stuff from the bottom of the page, it looks like you have just stuck it there as an after thought.
I dont know what your design skills are like but i would say you could do with a CSS design and drop all the tables from the site.
Please feel free to PM me if you would like some real advice
thanks

Re: Please Review - http://www.blueeyeswebservices.com
There is only one page that a table format within a <div> was used and unfortunatley it can not nor need be removed. The eyes also stay as that is my company and it is what people remember. I have to go back in and see why everything shifted to the left, and why the .css sheet is not being picked up on one of the pages.
The stuff on the bottom that you seem to have a problem with, just consider it as advertising that almost everyone has on their site, and don't look at it.

Re: Please Review - http://www.blueeyeswebservices.com
Hey Ninak! Nice looking site!
You have 30 code warnings. There is a strange piece of code that I don't recognize, first up, in front of your doctype declaration. I reckon that if you get rid of this, most, if not all of your code warnings will go.
Regards,
Laurie.

Re: Please Review - http://www.blueeyeswebservices.com
Well Ninak, you have done more improvements since the last time I looked.
You must have taken care of the code errors Laurie mentioned you only have one now and it has to do with the encoding characters right in front of the DTD.
The header text is overlapping. (Possibly related to the problem mentioned above but not likely)
The footer links might be better centered on the page, this will eliminate part of the "HOME" link sitting on top of the rounded corner.
IMO, the images for the W3C links would look better if you removed the border.
The only way to discover the limits of the possible is to go beyond them into the impossible

Re: Please Review - http://www.blueeyeswebservices.com
I took the widgets out (they were throwing my mind off. Changed the back ground to a solid color. seriously, I may be going blind or totally bonkers.because I can't figure out what encoding characters right in front of the DTD I am suppose to be looking for. Please help me with this spot. (Yes today my eyes are on a rampage)
Thank you Laurie and ColoEagle for all your help.

Re: Please Review - http://www.blueeyeswebservices.com
G'day again Ninak.
The strange code is gone. No errors, no warnings.
You must have found it.
Good on ya, Mate! Looking good!
A couple more things that you may wish to consider:
1) I don't mind the blue eyes. Rather innovative, I reckon. They are offset to the left. You may need to give the header, margin auto, in the css. margin: o auto;
2) Do you like the font you're using? I go for verdana, myself: font-family: Verdana, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;
Regards,
Laurie.
