Website for Review
http://www.logologics.nl
Additional Comments
Hello,
I would very much appreciate a site review.
Its build with WebsiteX 5 Evolution editor. I already made a lot of adjustments but still can use help.
Aproximately 50% of my visitors still exits immediatly.:dunno:After my adjustments I noticed an approvment ( before 80% left without really visting.
Any ideas why they leave so soon or is this rather normal that this percentage leaves at a website?
We had a few offer demands and clients, but I dont know if its normal or not.
I advertise with Google ADwords.
Thx for the help and your time!
Took a quick look at your site. Actually, it is easy to navigate. About the look, please make your logo clearer. Sorry but I'm not a fan of this color scheme though it's not bad. I think I rate it 6.5 out of 10.

Hi Zoobie,
Thx for taking the time.
I dont really get what you mean by "please make your logo clearer" ?
I suppose you mean the upper banner " Logologics logo's banners and animations" ?
Do you mean you dont see the image itself clear or do you mean its not clear enough to let the visitors know what they can expect from our website?
About the color scheme........I suppose thats a personal opinion, Before this color scheme I had far more lighter colors and got feedback that it should be darker etc.....but I do appreciate your comment, thats wat this topic is all about ofcourse.
What I really would like to know from you is : would you leave only based on the not liking of the colors, even if you really were looking for a logo?

First off let me give you a
to the validation.
For your question,
Yes, with the color scheme I would leave pretty quick. IMO, The black background is the biggest problem. Most people do not like a black background.
The text colors do not contrast enough, making it on the difficult side to read.
You have horizontal scroll in a 1024 width browser. 1024 width is the most commonly used browser size.
Consider using text for your navigation and not images. You can have the same look and effect by using CSS to control the background images of the navigation links.
If a visitor has images disabled or if images fail to load for some reason, no way to browse your site.
In looking at your code I see you have a style sheet offering high contrast, yet I was unable to find a link to a page or a way I could change to this. If you are going to offer different styles for visitors you need to make this availability easy to find.
Example, on my security site (in my signature) I offer four color options, two text size options for each color and a high contrast large text option. This accessibility page is available from anywhere with-in the site. I bring this up because it appears you have taken some extra steps to make your site accessible to just about everybody,

Hi ColoEagle,
Ok, first thx for the compliments.
Nice to hear I achieved some aprovements along the way.
About the black color, I dont know, I heard it before but then again also heard that it looks very good that way.
Before I had a light grey background and even then the problem of leaving almost instantly occurred.
Its even improved since I use the black background, but its not sure wether its the color that did it or the content, for I have made improvements there too.
I changed my own settings to 1024 width but I still dont need to scroll horizontaly? I do use an 21inch screen mayby thats the difference?May I ask what type of monitor you use?
Our other computers use wide screens and they dont have to scroll horizontal either?
Its kind of frustrating dont you think? One never knows for sure what the visitors use.
For example todays visitors used mostly 1024x768 or even 800x600................apperantly even the fact of the the monitor one uses can make a big difference?
I suppose the issue with the color gray used on the black background not being very clear is the same?
We have four different pc's here and its on all four of them very clear.........I tried red or lighter grey and then recieved comments that it hurts the eyes......
I will take your suggestion about the images into serious concideration. I dont have enough CSS skils yet to make that happen. I use the Website x5 editor. I find it very broad in the possibilities.I still learn more about them.
I was not aware of the fact that they probably build in that :
" In looking at your code I see you have a style sheet offering high contrast, yet I was unable to find a link to a page or a way I could change to this. If you are going to offer different styles for visitors you need to make this availability easy to find."
Any suggestions how I can make that visible?
I will take a look at your site, maybe I get some clues there.
Thx a lot for your input.

Its me again......I see the difference now and what I did wrong.....its not only the 1024 I have to pay attention to, but also the x 768...:blush:when I set these settings then I need to scroll horizontally too....
.thx a lot I wil try to make adjustments so that it doesnt need scrolling even with those settings.
I took a look at your site. Wauw I like that background that goes slowly from blue to white and the option to change the colors etc.
On the other hand I wonder if visitors will take the time to change those colors or leave before the even discover its an option?
I must say I had to search for it some time myself
Thx!

Well looks like you have been busy and have a few things already sorted out.
I am on a 19" with settings at 1024 x 768. But you have already figured that problem out.
With the background / theme color issue, do a search using your own keywords and look at the top 20 +/- sites. Look at the colors they use in generality and then considering these colors and using your own tastes see what you come up with. Don't need to copy any of them directly, but will give you an idea of what colors are working for similar sites.
With your menu images, if you don't have it already get the web developer tool bar extension for FF. With this (amongst other cool things) you will be able to disable images easily and see what happens with your site.
I would guess most people don't really pay attention to the color/style changing option. The benefit of having it is directed more toward those that have sight problems. Different types of color blindness, have poor eyesight and will use a text reader when needed but also look for the availability of different font sizes. Just another one of those items that should be considered when building a website. I will admit though, not every website needs to do this. You need to consider the niche and the type of visitors that will be visiting the site.
If you take a look at my site at the very top of every page, there are four links. These are called "Skip Links" They are the first thing somebody using a text reader will hear. They then have the option to have the reader skip straight to the content of the page, skip to the navigation for the page, click and visit the sitemap page or visit the accessibility page.
Ask away if something is still unclear.

Another newbie comment here. I see a lot of this black background color but maybe its my over 50 eyes but it is very tough to read ( especially since I only read english
. Seems like I read somewhere black is one of the worst background colors for viewer freindly.
I took a deeper look into the website and you do very nice work especially that spinning globe with the logo rotating opposite. Other than reviewing on this site I may not have gone past the first page. The background color I still don't like but my guess is that is a generational thing. It just doesn't feel professional to me although your work speaks for itself. All the younger people love those colors on websites. A twenty something distributor of mine built his entire site using the same colors. Young people see cool and hip but I would possibly back off and not explore the site further.I buy services such as yours occasionally and you don't want me to leave. Whose money you going after? The grey text is very readable to me on the black. You are very talented.

I may not be the guy to provide this review with my limited experience - but let's give it a go.
1. your choice of colors - for me it's spooky looking, and all the red is not exactly going to appeal to most (bloody look), and the grey navigation bar is too dark making it difficult to read the text.
2. You may want to consider switching the first 2 lines so you see: logos - banners - annimations - and you may want to identify your target client, like for all industries, or specific industries.
3. I like the name Logologics - you may want to creade a Logo - and incorporate the name and place at the top left of the page - like a lot of other businesses do (standard practice)
4. Lastly - again, work on the colors and fonts you are useing - you want this first page to hit the visitor right between the eyes with what it is that you offer and how you distinguish yourself in the marketplace. You also want the page to be easy on the eyes, professional (whatever that means to your customers), and easy to get your message with a quick scan of the eyeballs. (get all the details on other pages, in other words)

You sell logos right? You sell design?
OK, this is my arena as I've been in the field for over 22 years.
The site is dark and a bit scary... as for the content, if the material you want to sell isn't readily apparent then you're in trouble. Consider showing your work right up front and making the site "feel" more like the gallery you want it to.
Check out my two sites for some guidance as I've been down this road myself.
I went a little dark with 5webdesign and I've regretted it ever since... even though people like this site, I often get declined for more corporate gigs... people are always asking me what's up with the spider and they think the color scheme is too haloween.
I decided to make 5sonstudios (my new site) much more corporate and approachable and the response has been noticable.
Best of luck,
Adam
I also have a great new social networking site called www.brandingservices.org which is like myspace for creatives.

Hello,
Thx again for the great comments and your time.
I made changes again and tried to make it less scary by using more grey and red.....
We had a few clients and more offer demands so I quess I must be doing something right?
More suggestions?
My first impression of the site was eughhhhhh that's horrible. You have to remember that there is a school of thought that says it is not the concious mind that decides what it likes to see but the sub concious and this takes all of 0.8 seconds!
If I had stumbled across this site I would have left immediately, ref you high bounce rate it's 50/50 some like it and some don't. I would agree with the previous comment about the difference between tragetting corporate and non corporate. Most Corporate bodies would run a mile when the saw the colour scheme, goths and count drac come to mind.
However once into the site and a tissue to wipe the tears from my eyes regarding colours I really liked it. I think you have got a talent but you could market it differently. Maybe build a fresh site on another domain name targetting the suits ( I am one)! I did like the fact that you had and English translation page as I can only swear in Dutch!
Best of luck.

Hello Lease2u,
Altough your comment was rather
I want you to know I do appreciate it and you are probably right.
I will change the Dracula en Gothic
style and will try to make it "suitable" for "suits"
after all, thats the target group.
I needed that extra
to decide to make the changes...............it will take a lot of work for all the designs were made to fit a black background so...........
Wish me luck.......
and thx!
