Is It My Connection, or Were Those Links Funky?
Was checking out the links included in the article Ways To Create Profitable Info Products - under #2. The link to "GetaFreelancer" got me to such a site, but "elancer" took me to a domain registry site, and "freelancer" just gave me a "cannot find server" jump over to my IP's search page. Bad night for me to check out links, or is the same thing happening to others?
My IP does send me spinning through cyberspace (remember when that word was big?!
) sometimes, but it usually gets me to where I want to go the second or third try.

same result with the 2nd link elancer... but the third link should be [www.freelancewritersguild.com], so error in putting the href tags maybe.

Oh, goodie! That means I don't have to call our IP's help desk! Whew! (Have more fixing up to do after the call then before, usually.)
Soul, thanks for the heads up. I did want to check out the links, obviously.

Re: Is It My Connection, or Were Those Links Funky?
I use a couple of freelancing web sites that work quite well for me:
E-Lance and
Guru
Although both of these sites require a subscription fee I have made back my money the first week. It is important to read all their help documents very carefully however. You might discover that if you are going to freelance that opening up a separate business account to handle business revenue is called for. I established an LLC by looking up my states web site and registering online for $40.00 it was far easier then I had imagined. Then take your articles of incorporation to the bank and get a 'DBA' account (Doing Business As).
I have also discovered it's good to provide large clients with a W9 form and a 1099 that they can fill out at the end of the year. There are some great books available about freelancing. I am still learning the business end of things!
I hope this helps.

That's good advice. Merging business and personal funds can be a major IRS no no. If you have a business account never write a personal check on it. LLCs are a good choice in most states. In California you may be better off state tax wise with a California corporation or an LLC in Nevada.
