Mind Helping Out Site-Reference For a Minute?

Hey guys and gals,

Need a little favor from everyone… as the spam issues continues to get worse, email service providers (hotmail, Gmail, AOL, etc) keep tightening up their email delivery programs which makes it hard on us (Site-Reference) to get your newsletter delivered to your inbox

Since these email service providers have no way of actually verifying that you have indeed subscribed to Site Reference they are left to make educated “guesses”…

These guesses are based on a few factors (which we are working on) but one of the main ones needs YOUR HELP:

i'd really appreciate it if you could  add Site-Reference to your SAFE SENDER list (or added us to your contacts list)

So if you have a couple seconds (and that’s really all it takes) and wouldn’t mind helping out Site-Reference, could you please add us to your contacts list?

It’s real easy- all you have to do is copy/paste the from address of the last Site-Reference Newsletter you received and add it to your list…

HERE ARE STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTION DEPENDING ON WHAT EMAIL PROGRAM YOU USE:

Note: If you signed up for the newsletter within the last 9 months you will be receiving it from Newsletter@Site-Reference.com . If you’ve been with us for longer then 9 months you will be receiving it from Newsletter@Site-ReferenceNEWSLETTER.com

AOL

Go to keyword:  Mail Controls.
Select the screen name we're sending your Site-Reference to.
Click Customize Mail Controls For This Screen Name.

Version 9.0:

Open your latest Site-Referencee-mail.
Click the Add Address button (on the right) to add to your "People I Know" list.

Alternatively, you can just send an e-mail to: Newsletter@Site-ReferenceNewsletter.com, and that will add us to your "People I Know" list automatically. To do this:

Open your latest Site-Referencee-mail.
Click the Reply button (it's in the top right corner).
A new email window opens with the wrong address in the "Send To" box.
Replace the address in the Send To box with: Newsletter@Site-ReferenceNewsletter.com
Click Send Now (in the top right corner).
Even if the e-mail you send doesn't get through to us, the act of sending it does the job of putting us into your "People I Know" list.

Earthlink:

1. Click on Address Book (it's over on the left, below your Folders).
2. When your Address Book opens, click the Add button.
3. On the Add Contact screen, find the Internet Information box.
4. Enter the address Newsletter@Site-ReferenceNewsletter.com
5. Click Save\

Gmail

1.    Click Contacts along the left side of any Gmail page.
2.    Click Add Contact.
3.    In the primary email address box, type Newsletter@Site-ReferenceNewsletter.com
4.    Click Save.

Hotmail:

Click the Options link, on the main menu tabs, then Safe List.
Type: Newsletter@Site-ReferenceNewsletter.com in your Safe List.
If you see a message that should not be in your Junk Mail folder, click
'This is not Junk Mail' to avoid having e-mail from the same source sent to
the Junk Mail folder in the future.

Outlook 2003

Add a name to your Safe Senders or Safe Recipients List

You can add either the sender's e-mail address or their domain name to the Safe Senders List.

On the Tools menu, click Options.
On the Preferences tab, under E-mail, click Junk E-mail.
Click the Safe Senders or Safe Recipients tab.
Click Add.
In the Enter an e-mail address or Internet domain name to be added to the list box, enter Newsletter@Site-ReferenceNewsletter.com (or Newsletter@Site-Reference.com depending on the FROM address you see*), and then click OK.

Outlook Express (version 6 or higher)

1.    Open the original welcome email we sent you (check your junk mail).
2.    Left-click the sender icon, or right click the sender’s name.
3.    Click Add to contacts.
4.    Click Save and close.

Verizon:

1. On the left hand side of the screen go to E-Mail & More
2. Go to Check My E-Mail
3. Under Check My E-Mail click on Options
4. Under Options 7 tabs will appear across the screen [Mailbox] [Rules] [Signature] [Display] [POP Set-up] [Block Senders] [Mail Filters]
5. Click on [Block Senders]
6. A Block Senders screen appears
7. There is a Block Sender List and a Safe List
8. Add Newsletter@Site-ReferenceNewsletter.com (or Newsletter@Site-Reference.com depending on the FROM address you see*) to the Safe List

Yahoo! Mail

Open your Yahoo! mailbox.
Click Mail Options.
Click Filters.
Click Add Filter.
In the top row, labeled 'From header:' make sure Contains is selected in the pull-down menu.
Click in the text box next to that pull-down menu, then enter the address: Newsletter@Site-ReferenceNewsletter.com (or Newsletter@Site-Reference.com depending on the FROM address you see*)
At the bottom, where it says "Move the Message To:" select Inbox from the pull-down menu.
Click the Add Filter button again.

If Site-Reference has been filtered to your "bulk" folder, simply
open the message and click on the "This is not Spam" link next to
the "From" field.

Other providers:

If Site-Reference is being filtered, try adding Newsletter@Site-ReferenceNewsletter.com (or Newsletter@Site-Reference.com depending on the FROM address you see*) to your Address Book or Contact list.
If this option is not available, try moving the message to your 'inbox' or forwarding the message to yourself.

If subsequent messages continue to be filtered, call or e-mail your ISP's technical support
and ask how you can be sure to receive all e-mail from Newsletter@Site-ReferenceNewsletter.com (or Newsletter@Site-Reference.com depending on the FROM address you see*),

Domain:     If they need to know the domain we're mailing from, tell them:  Site-ReferenceNewsletter.com (or Newsletter@Site-Reference.com depending on the FROM address you see*)

*If you signed up for the newsletter within the last 9 months you will be receiving it from Newsletter@Site-Reference.com . If you’ve been with us for longer then 9 months you will be receiving it from Newsletter@Site-ReferenceNEWSLETTER.com

Re: Mind Helping Out Site-Reference For a Minute?

Inspecting your message headers, we find these

Code:

Return-Path: <aweber@smtp-verifiedoptin-03.aweber.com>
Received: from smtp-verifiedoptin-03.aweber.com (smtp-verifiedoptin-03.aweber.com [207.106.200.9])
From: "Site Reference Newsletter" <Newsletter@Site-Reference.com>
Sender: site-reference@aweber.com

These are all different, and there is no reply-to

Try to get
     from,
     return-path
     reply-to

to be all the same address

Re: Mind Helping Out Site-Reference For a Minute?

I use both- have 2 databases but all new subscribers go through Aweber

My reason for switching it is time consumption- we have a lot of subscribers and we send the newsletters twice a week so it adds up to lots of mail going out

quite a lot of attention needs to go into caring for a system like this and I simply did not have the time myself which is why i needed to bring in a 3rd party to help

I believe when we talked about this i mentioned the above and suggested it if you were going to be sending lots out as well

however you  had mentioned you were only going to send your mail once a month and would rather have the control yourself (which if you can do so effectively is probably best i agree) so would rather keep it in house

Ah ha, I forgot the once a month thing - given that I'm not in charge where I work now; it's twice a week! And 12all copes with our list size quite nicely glad
