Just a small request
Some of the topics have many pages. Is it at all possible to either have the newest reply on top and descend to the latest. It would make it a lot easier. (Or like on some other places, have an option of which way the individual would like to view it) I hope that I am not requesting too much work.

Re: Just a small request
the posts go into chronological order of first to last as that's the way a discussion progresses...IMO having it the other way is more confusing...but if more people are interested in this function i am all ears...
as far as the options- you see any scripts out there for that?

Re: Just a small request
Well, G'day.
I think ninak makes a good point, but I'd like to make a point for keeping it as it is.
It's important to be an integral part of a conversation that you enter. To be this, you need to be aware of what has already been said. When you read the thread, beginning to end, it's just like you were there from the start of the conversation.
I always find it disappointing when someone has obviously just jumped in on the tail end of a conversation, perhaps having read the first post, but ignoring everybody else involved in the conversation and what they've said. But it does appear that they expect to be heard, them self.
This action becomes obvious, of course, when the poster is so obviously oblivious to what is between them and the instigating post.
So, you see, I think a competent online conversationalist will be needing to start at the beginning and work through the conversation, before joining the conversation.
Regards,
Laurie.

Re: Just a small request
I'll keep searching for a script for that option.
In the block on top where it shows logged in as, on the first page it does show a link to newest postings, but once your in a topic section it just tells you the time of your last visit. Maybe if you could get it to keep the links it would help. Sorry to be such a bug about this.

Re: Just a small request
Just for the record, if I could see what everyone wrote throughout the entire thread, my books...errr, responses could be more detailed?!
Seriously, I do have short-term memory problems (senior moments before becoming a senior), so I've taken to copying and pasting all comments I want to respond to into my word processing program, so I can respond to each. (Also helps with the typos!) I'm thinking that's a lot easier then finding a script and then installing it to work properly for this whole forum. But, then again, this is from someone who still has to re-read the directions, each time, to do something as simple as sticking a BB Code link into this forum.
BTW, Nic, assuming you read all these comments in this particular folder, there are now, at least, two openly teddy bear crazy people on here, and I'm sure many more closet arctophiles. I love the added emoticons! When ya adding a teddy bear or two? Much more important then a monkey!
