Google News
You know how you can sign up for Google news (or something like that), where they send you an e'mail with links to stories relating to the keywords you punched in?
How does one get in on that action?

Re: Google News
Woops.... I wasn't clear enough.
So I got this blog, and I'd like to get it INTO google alerts.
Is this thing based entirely on a 'trust' factor?

Re: Google News
theres' two different things:
G Alerts > you enter keywords into your account and they notify you via email when they index any new webpage that includes those words
G News > this is news and press releases- to get into this G has to pick-up your 'newsworthy' story. If you want to get included as a news piece into G and Y news you can write a press release about all the great things your company is doing and submit it to PRWeb along with $80 or more and they'll make sure it gets picked up by them.
Only thing is both G and Y distribute so many stories they don't archieve their news- so in a few days your new piece won't show up anymore under their news sites

Re: Google News
I don't know about Google Alerts, but Yahoo alerts me about articles from papers around the country in reference to my two obvious KWs. Granted, most annoying that there is someone in the Chicago Bears football organization named Teddy (so I get all news about Teddy from the Bears, too), and some articles are repeated again and again (good for your purposes, annoying for mine), so half the alerts are useless, BUT I've been saving truly related e-mails from Yahoo for a year now. If you send PRs directly to them, yes, they will disappear, but if you send PRs to online newspapers, for some odd reason, they keep all their articles for over a year.
Who cares?! Anyone with a blog that sometimes could use references with links, thus giving your PR a little more exposure around the Net for your KWs. To find the newspapers you can send your PR to, try this search result -- http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=n … s+hundreds Unlike the alerts from Yahoo, those results go past America's borders.
