oh well.
Frankly - I liked the question...I'm always interested in topics that enlist members participation...and man this one sure fit the bill.
The level of entertainment was high...particularly with Ryan offering uncharacterized mentoring support with this statement

they'll be reading, just too embarrassed to post i guess now they know how they've pissed off most of the hardest contributing folk here by talking such utter detritus.
marquis20 - i've just been speaking to the people of your village, they miss you and want their idiot back.
ungrateful schmuck, seriously, you've come to the table with empty hands, eaten, drank and then had the audacity to insult the hosts and those around the table
if you have learned nothing here in four months you're perfectly qualified to be spitting on onion rings down at the local burger king, submit an application, your go getting, self motivating, self learning abilities are just the caliber they need!

To embarrassed? No, not marquis... poor guy has been doing this for 4 months and simply has a bitch about the lack of silver plate polishers in the house and now he is ashamed? come on, that comment was kinda like making out with your sister in your parents room and your parents walk in and then your brother posts the video on youtube... nothing to be ashamed of.... i have been meaning to ask though, you wouldnt happen to be a member/affiliate of the South African government would you marquis? i was just curious because thats normally where we put all our village idiots down here and i figured you would fit in swimmingly, you could help them explain why diesel goes up with petrol and why eating potatoes and lemons will clear your aids status

are you serious?
People like Coloeagle spend countless hours giving help and advice to members here...and for what??? Nothing- simply to help out
Our members have no stake in the site- they don’t profit by it – they simply offer their help so that when the time comes they need help themselves, others here will be willing to pitch inSpoiler:
hint: that’s how productive communities work- people help each other out
Does Coloeagle or anyone else here owe you something?
Should he come over to your place, hold your hand, tell you everything will be okay and build your site for you?
He took his time away from his business to help you here with your review and you turn around to bash him?!?!? Give me a second to pull the knife out of his back....
This is a FREE service where members do their best to assist each other out of their own good will
No one is forcing you to be here or to use this forums to your advantage
If you have web related issues and want our help, why not post specific questions so that we can see what your issues are
But make no mistake- we’re not here to babysit you
On the other hand if you don’t want our help...simply move on
Just let me asure you that if you ever attack another one of our members like you just did to ColoEagle, I will make that decision for you![]()
Thanks for your understanding
I know this is too late, and Desade has taken Nic's advice ("move on"), but still gonna add my two cents.
Reality time: CE has taken some of us Noob's by the hand and taught us stuff. Matter of fact, looking down the lists of all the folks, who have replied, most, if not all, have held my hand (figuratively) to show me the way in one aspect or another of developing my sites. Some, who haven't jumped in, have also helped me so much, I swear that I've learned more from folks on these boards then the last 13 years of my education. (I did learn how to read, write, and do math in the first 4 years of schooling, so wouldn't learn well here without that schoolin'.)
Just wanted to thank everyone for their help over the years. It is much appreciated! Seriously.

With all due respect, I guess you people here took his word too straight, too personal...
Perhaps he was even willing to pay for assistance, for coach... Why not presenting him a complete offer for this kind of web services...? Many of you are professionals, aren't you?!

Well bro…. problem is that we don’t jump through hoops and there is no expectation to be had around these here parts. We aren’t employees, just hanging out…
I need someone to show me the ropes,
but I need a vetran to show me whats up with all this SEO --- He has over 1000 post giving his opinion but opinions only go so far with me ,show me how its really done.
you dont have time for people like me
All of that from a person with a total of 12 posts. We are not here to hand over the keys to internet success. We provide insights and commentary on a variety of topics. To expect to be given it is short-sighted and damn near arrogant (and I know a thing or 2 about arrogance dontcha know). The web is full of folks that don’t make it very far and it is often because they cannot SEEK OUT the answers… nothing will be given to ya…
They didn’t say they wanted to PAY some one to show them the path…. It was an expectation, and an unreasonable one at that.
Happy Holidays!.... time to go back to the kids…

Well webcro, you seem to be fairly new here as well and may have yet to experienc the kind of great people who gather in this fabulous forum who share their knowledge so freely.
I could use the excuse that I am a bit cranky because of pain, but... NAH! I did feel insulted. Not for myself, but for the reason stated above. The are numerous people here, me included, who have greatly benefited from this forum and its fine people. I have been to plenty of webmaster forums before, just to get hooked on this one when I finally arrived.
Stick around, bet you'll like it as well

Hey webcro
It was a simple case of marquis being a douche and us telling him he is a douche, at any time he could have asked for help, he could have ask where to get paid help, he could have clicked on either the pm, email or website buttons of the obvious guys who get paid to do this. But no, not marquis... he had to go straight to the "screw you guys" part of the conversation... hence we all went straight for the screw you to part of the conversation.
Nobody was to harsh on him, no more harsh than he was to the "veterans" he so obviously sought.
Dont stress on it though, it takes a fair bit to get this crowd into their battle stations, we dont do it often and when we spot someone actually looking for help people here tend to start bending backwards quite quickly... which is exceptionally rare in my opinion.
Quick thought: I just thought of something (dont all fall off your chairs laughing now) what if marquis was trying to play the role of the villain? ye know how every forum has someone who will pop up and say the bluntest and apparently most offensive things... perhaps marquis wanted to be that guy... i almost feel sorry for him now, but then again he is still a douche for not realising after 12 posts exactly how many villains are already here
we just keep it subtle - no room for dodgy outburst on these here forums
he he. I think this whole thread pretty much shows that the grand majority of regulars can hold their own in a confrontation... perhaps that should be stickied somewhere

of course, personally i would say 3 and the 4th would just be pimping your expert status... kinda like those internet degrees to become a doctor, 4 months of ER and you are a brain surgeon.

Thanks for asking, atwhatcost., how are you? Yes, I am doing much better. You can call me
Bionic Woman now
Have a new hip. If it wasn't for my dog, I'd be dead. Some dogs are
so smart, if we'd teach them what we know we'd be looking to work off-line again, lol. Perish
the thought.
In addition... Dogs listen attentively to what we try to teach them, learn with an eager gleem
in their eyes and love us like crazy for it to boot, not like some ungrateful humans we know.

Glad to hear your better, Ms. B. Woman! Also, glad you have a smart dog, but, ummm, your descriptions of dogs doesn't fit any dog I've known. Most dogs, tend to listen by licking their bottoms, and rather have a good hard scratch in that place that makes their foot bounce up and down -- that is, if they aren't asleep dreaming of dinner.
The only lesson the dog we had as kids ever learned was how to stay in his bed, during dinner time, by stretching out, all the way from that bed to the dinner table, with just the tip of his tail still in the bed. That lesson was only remembered when we didn't leave him in the kitchen with food on the table, just for a moment. OK, I'm sure he had an eager gleem in his eyes the day he ate 23 raw meatballs, because Dad had to answer the front door in the middle of making his annual batch of homemade sphaghetti to freeze into 52 meals.
A helpful dog?! What an interesting idea! Glad you have one -- you might consider breeding him/her for future generations.

Lol... And i thought i had problems.
I have to stand up for the "mentors" on this site . They have given me valuable information every time i have posted. It hasnt cost me a cent. You cant expect anyone to do your work for you . If you want your website to succeed and you dont want or cant afford to pay for it ,then you have to put in the time and effort . You have to learn how to do the things you need to use . The people here will quite often go out of their way to help if you ask but they wont and shouldnt have to do it for you.
I think and appology is due.
Jan.
