Heh, having to repost, got outa compiance on my first try.  Sorry all!  I'm Dave Carroll, a Vietnam Vet, and a drug and alcohol abuse counselor.  Got here through a search engine registration.  I've been tackling this SEO thing.  Lots of people out there making lots of promises for lots of money, but how can everyone be able to be in the top 10 when there's millions and millions of sites out there and only 10 fit on that 1st page?  It seems a little prepostorous to me.  The only way I can see is to be able to buy the spot.  When I look at those first pages it seems to verify that, by who is on them.  Big money guys, period.  Oh well, like I said, just came to intro and network a little.

I think you'll find some valuable resources on this site...especially when it comes to SEO. If you have been tackling the 'SEO thing', I'm wondering if you have been doing anything else as well. The Internet is a lot more than just SEO....yet I'm sure you must be doing other things too because you have turned up here...to do a little networking.

You made a mention about buying a spot on page 1..so many people do that...I also see other ways to get to the top as well...these might be just my opinions, but the big Internet Marketers that I watch are using more creative means to get noticed. Open your mind to other possibilities - you never know what you might uncover.

Not impossible to overcome the deep pocket guys. Like everything else, takes work and time, but can be done.

I suggest you start out by spending some time in the SEO category. Find the things that you can implement on your site and do them. Go slowly and do not overdo it. Results will not take place overnight so don't get discouraged right away.

If you have a specific question and you can't find the answer, ask away. Make sure you place it in the proper category as different members frequent different areas.
