Not being in the habit of buying links, or selling them, I was wondering if this could be a new record price for a link?
Three weeks ago a well known airline approached me about advertising on one of our travel sites, but this in time turned to them wanting me to advertise with them, which was weird in itself.
Their offer:
xxx generates over 200 million page impressions and 10 million unique visitors, The costing for a link on the *** destination page comes to 10,000 Euro per month.
--
They don't say whether that 10 million unique visitors is a month or a year, but I think a year.
So a link that lasts one month for 10,000 Euros (7,000 British, US $ 14,000).
Can anyone top that?
If this were reported to Matt Cutts with evidence I wonder if google would penalise an airline in the search engine?
And I wonder if there would be any chance of our site being hit by reporting it?
Roger
Wow... quite costly. Personally, I don't buy anything they tell ya when it comes to 'visitors' or 'page impressions'..... It's all smoke and mirrors, that don't boil down to anything worth while.

The first company that came to mind is Hawaiian Air, but I will leave that alone.
