Can there be a category to help people like me figure out which programs are worth the money, which are just out to get your money?
I keep getting emails about programs like WEBCEO, and other SEO and CEO programs. I am a bit hesitant about even downloading free trials because sometimes they just won't come out of your system.
Has anybody ever used any such programs?
Hey Ninak...check this out for the software: Seo Software
As far as creating a category for all this stuff i'm brainstrorming on something...but for spam reasons it is difficult...bare with me....this will take a while to build if i do find a good solution...no promises
We touched on this here: http://forums.site-reference.com/viewtopic.php?id=6350
Custom Web Design, Logos, Ebook Cover, CD/DVD Covers and all your graphic needs
I have.... sadly.
I've got SEO Elite and I've also used WEB CEO. Unfortunately, the biggest flaw with these types of programs is that they can only tell you what you can get for free. i.e. - Where is my site ranking for this term, etc.
Oh, and PR.... hahahhaha
Here's the biggest flaw of them all - These programs tell you that all you need to do is 'Do everything that your competitors have done'. It's also the biggest selling point for the software - Just use our program to find out what they did, copy it, and you'll be #1 in no time!
The problem is, you CAN'T do absolutely everything that they've done. You can't get the EXACT link placement on every single site they have a link at. Heck, sometimes your competitors will have links at sites that have been abandoned, but still up and running. And most importantly, you can't turn back time (dust off the Cher CD anyone?)
Link 'age' is also important. So how can you compete with your competitors links if they've had them on other sites for several years, and are good quality links (from a bot perspective)?
Simple.... toss out your software, and tread your own path.
The main reason why I asked this is because of the many duplications in services that these things seem to offer. When I first did my daughters site I automatically listed with a lot of those free engine listing services. Then when I became a reseller they gave me something called traffic Blazer and I noticed that it does the same thing lists you with these search engines (but add a few extras) It does the analysis on keywords too. My concern is, by purchasing one of these other programs, am I just waisting my money? I think a lot of us new people are wondering the same thing. If you have google analytics, google webmaster do you realy need one of these types of programs. ? I did not see the previous posts and thank you for pointing them out.
