Well, I have been hearing about BlogRush a lot lately. For those that don’t know it’s kind of like a traffic exchange for Blogs. You put the widget on your site and build up ‘points’ based from the folks that click on a link from it or sign up from your affiliate link ….

Is it worth anything? Who knows, but with folks like John Chow and Shoemoney yipping about it, it has some Buzz factor at least.

I put the widget on my site today, so we shall see what happens with it (another reason for having a strong analytics package in place).

Early data also won’t likely mean much as MyBlogLog sent a fair bit of traffic in it’s early days and petered off. So, early data can be misleading ( anyone remember the buzz about Squido lenses?)

I shall report back as I see more…..

Dave, I saw a topic over at DP and one of the posters brought up an interesting point. He appeared to be questioning whether or not using BlogRush violated the TOS for Ad Sense. Have you heard anything?

Frankly BlogRush probably wont deliver the desired results anyway, which are visitors that are actually in the mood to part with their money. Using MBL as an example, they continue to drive 15 to 40 referrals a week yet actual conversions are miniscule.

Google organic is the real cats meow, but nonetheless BlogRush should still be evaluated.

Agreed... I shall play along for a bit. I lost faith in these fads for driving meaningfull traffic a while ago.....

I asked Matt if he had any comments about BlogRush and he said:

Well.... so far I apparently have the following;

Credits Earned Today: 462
From Your Traffic: 30
From Your Referral Network: 432

Credits Earned Last 7 Days: 1,048
From Your Traffic: 234
From Your Referral Network: 814

While that is all fine and dandy.... I can't find a single refferrer from the progam as far as ACTUAL traffic is concerned.

Anyone else sign up for BR?? Anyone getting ANY traffic from it???

ADDED; Ok, so I finally had a visitor from the BR widget..... but even MBL has brought 4 visitors today.... and I consider MBLs best days to be behind it. We shall continue to watch.
