Almost 'Dave Bait'

bwaaaa ha ha ha  ha ha ha... he he.. cough ...weeze....

Man, I was a readin' the  Beginners Guide to Page Rank thinking to myself, ' This has got to be Dave Bait' - wondering who in their right mind around SR would put that up unless they wanted to see me frothing at the mouth.....

Then at the end I read ;

Editor's Note: In this article the authors simplifies his explanation using the Goolge Toolbar PR. However Toolbar PageRank is NOT a TRUE refection of a webpages's PR and therfore holds very little value. Goolge keeps the true PR of webpages to themselves. For a great explenation on Toobar PageRank please see this: The Google Toolbar PageRank Demystified

... ha ha ha ha ha.... nice one.

I'd simply add that while PR (in it's true form) is certainly a factor in ranking, there have been many adaptations to the over-all algo(s) with a variety of weighting factors other than PR.

This should do it --

In terms of PageRank, this means that a PR6 site is not twice as valuable as a PR5 site, but actually TEN TIMES as valuable.

It is not alltogether difficult to find a PR6 site outranked by a PR3 site in the SERPs ( for noobs see SEO Acronyms)

Ranking is not by PR alone ( passing of value via links).

Anyways, just had me laughing there.... kudos to the Mod/Admin that put that one up....

Not at all... I am recycling old threads that are helpful ....

Curious, does that rating system for articles keep the number of votes? You could find the highest rated, with min X number of votes that is at least more than 3 months old and run a few now and again.....
