Hi,
Would like to know which PPC campaign has the positive side-effect of getting us incoming links
through the campaign ads that they post? Or do they disable being indexed?
And between Adwords and Y!SM, which one would be better to market India-based business sites using PPC?
Thank you,
tuxg

Generaly speaking you won't get love from PPC stuff, look at the source of whomever your looking to work with and see if the links meet the criteria for a backlink. Most use a redirect with the 'on click' event for tracking purposes so they are not usually a direct link to your site.. thus it won't register. You should also look for providers that don't use the rel=nofollow when purchasing any text link advertising or PPC.
As for which service to use, it would come down to cost and exposure for the given term your targeting with the campaign. For the most part, AdWords will have greater reach...

if they did give link love then it would be considered as buying links - a big seo no-no
plus, the actually go through a tracking page with may redirect in a non-seo friendly way

Hey Tuxg,
just a note to let you know you can target specific regions with adwords (not sure about YPM)...so if you want to only target people in India you can select that (will save you a lot of $ on needless exposure as well)
hope that helps
Nic
Hi,
Thank you all for your useful inputs on this.
Looks like no free lunch then :-)
Had good experience with YPM (it was Overture that time),
and am now trying Adwords for Indian businesses.
Thanks again,
