Need Low Budget Marketing

I am working with a low budget at this time, but still need to market my site.  Last night I did submit to a list of free search engines.  But as I have seen in another post, I need to make sure the search engines relate to my site.  I am not sure if I picked the correct ones or not.

I also am a very creative person, and would like to find some other ways of marketing, but need to learn more about it.  So if anyone has any suggestions on how to reach business professionals, etc. I would love to hear about it.

Thank you!

Tana

Re: Need Low Budget Marketing

Hello Tana,

I made submissions to a whole host of FREE search engines for one of my websites, and all of a sudden I received enormous amounts of spam...let's face it, claiming to be a free search engine is a great way to collect e-mail addresses.

One of the most effective ways I found is to write articles and submit them to appropriate article directories. Using your keywords in the title really helps. It also seems to be more effective to use articles that are NOT too pushy and just include simple links to your site in the authors Biography...a great way to come across as an expert in your chosen field too.

If you're creative...publishing videos to youtube etc are another way that works to send traffic to your site, but it's good to do some research as to what works best to get attention. I've posted an article with a video (from a guy who has tested the market by publishing one video every day) called "How to get noticed on YouTube" and if you're interested in trying that, I can give you the url.

Again, using your keywords in the video title really works.

I think relying on creativity is a wonderful way to get attention to market your business/site/products etc. That way you're NOT doing what everyone else is doing.

All the best,

Elizabeth Richardson

Yes, I found the issue with spam.  Definitely is a pain!  I love your idea with youtube.  I think that is a great idea.  I would love the information!

Thanks!

OK tana, you'll find it at http://eastvic.local-space.com/communit … .php?t=164 and by the way, there are plenty of good businesses who are using video sharing sites to boost their traffic and make sales. Though from my experience, the big marketing gurus (such as Guy Kawasaki), tend to use Google Video.
I suspect because the quality is much better, but I've always found them annoying to load.

Re: Need Low Budget Marketing

Don't forget good old traditional marketing methods. While your business is virtual - that does not mean your marketing needs to be!

Also look at joining one of the many VA style cooperatives on the net - they can be very worthwhile

Also look at LinkedIn.com and similar business networking sites

Participate in business forums - give plenty of advice so you become regarded as an expert. Work can potentially flow from such activities

That's what I would be doing.

Re: Need Low Budget Marketing

There are plenty of ways to promote your business, the thing is that how you managed them according to your budget. If you have less resources, then set following promotion areas in your priority.
1. SEO
2. Pay per click
3. Email marketing

Re: Need Low Budget Marketing

search engine submissions?

there's no point doing that;
1) it doesn't give you any rankings
2) the SE's that count will find you as long you have links

new to it?
well, basic, standard step Nr 1; directory submissions ...

check www.directoryrecap.com for a list of free directories ... (or order from us ;-))
