I don't have the $300 to add to Yahoo's index so I go thru the back door and use Local yahoo. (free)
I find my site in a few day's, (So does a new customer) and see it's around # 8 in the local listings.
Then I ask some happy customers to do a review. Now around two months later I look at Local Yahoo and I'm # 1 of of 279 not too big a deal right? (I think it's due to the reviews)
But go to Yahoo (not local) yahoo main
I am # 1 of about 443,000) for web designer Rochester Hills , Mi
using the keywords web designer Rochester Hills , Mi on yahoo I'm at the top
#1
It's a pull from yahoo local and show's two sites (one is mine)
Cool eh?
I know it's not Google, but I can only handle so much traffic anyway.
I love this internet stuff.
So the moral is
Use Local Yahoo for a free listing and boost it with honest reviews.
I'm trying this with Google Local but not much success yet...
