Hi Guys,
I joined this forum about a month ago and was asking questions in the thread, "I Made a Guru Mad". I have a website and a blog that keep disappearing from Google searches.
One is Wear's the Beach? I mentioned it had been on page 5 of Google. After a month of being gone it returned for about 5 days, to page 1, and now has disappeared again. This is the one you guys have been helping me with. So now I know I have made page 1 of Google, but it's gone. I dont mean that it moves way down- it is completely gone.
The other is a blog that is page one for my chosen terms. It disappears for long periods of time; reappears and then vanishes again. It is gone more than it is listed.
These sites are unrelated. One is Hosted with Bluehost; the second is Blogger. I have not done much of anything with these sites lately, although I did redo Wears the Beach back in early May.
It is really hard to keep going; confusing to say the least. I don't want to give up. I was reading the thread "GoshDang Thieves", and "Negative Seo". There are obviously things that people can do, but isn't it very time consuming? I dont want to get in to the paranoia again... just need to know if anyone has any suggestions where I can start looking.

well I doubt anyone would have an interest in bunmping you from PAGE 5 of the SERPs... it seems that would be punishment enough... ha ha ha ha

What's the URL and KW in question?

You are exactly right and it's silly, but something is happening. Whats are the odds that both my sites disappear, re-appear, disappear. What could I possibly be doing wrong?

KW is competitive and I am not certain that an affiliate site will make the grade without doing more advertising and SEO than the current competition.

Lots of duplicate content on the web, maybe some filtering, hmmm how many more holly mann ebook/blogs do you have?
I built a Squidoo Lens on the ebook. That is when this all started-back in the beginning of June. I saw a post about Squidoo lenses in another forum and decided to build one. Pretty soon, the whole forum community was building lenses and voting on each others and the forum was loaded with squidoo links. I questioned it and wondered if it was sp*mming and everyone got miffed at my comments.
Then both my blog and my website disappeared.
I have suspected that my ebook site was affected by the Squidoo site, but not sure how. I guess that duplicate content could be the problem with the blog. I have been contemplating deleting the lens for awhile now, mostly as a form of troubleshooting.
The website, however is another issue but the same thing is happening.
What does "maybe some filtering" mean? Is that something that may be happening?
I sure do appreciate this help, cuz I am such a beginner and there is so much to learn.
Thanks,

Both of these are unlikly, but worth a small amount of consideration
1 - Data centres?
One DC favours you, the rest don't - On the off chance you connect to the one that likes you, you see your site in the SERPs briefly, then they go again
2 - Personal Search?
A small level of PS (or should that be BS?) is on all the time with google, add &pws=0 to the end of the google serps url and hit 'go'

Hi there...
OK... to begin with 'wearsthebeach.com ' ---
Indexation = 8 pages --- http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=n … each%2ecom
BackLinks - you have next to none and what is there has the text targeted to 'Wears the Beach?' - the main URL and one with 'Sexy Bikinis' -- so you wouldn't likely be ranking for much. You even put out some articles I see without targeting some back links.. tsk tsk
In short? Time for some link building ideas
NEXT
www.thank-you-holly-mann.blogspot.com
Indexation; 1 page and it's supplemental.
BackLinks; Same as before... pretty much non-existant and what is there isn't targeted to anything but the site title.....
I also have to wonder about the need to the hosting affiliate banner (link) at the bottom of the page.. I am sure it ain't helping.. and it's unlikely your making any $$ from it.... no biggie tho. Your top 2 right panel links are affiliates as well aren't they? ( the eBook and 'Paid to Surf').. I ain't a fan of that either.
Why do all the lower right panel links go to 'Go Articles' ?? Is that a RSS from there? Not sure if I would keep that either....
For a Blog, there isn't much in the way of fresh content ? I see 3 posts for all of this year. You may want to work on that as well
So in all honesty, there is simply much work to be done. The indexation issues are greatly related to things such as content freshness and back links among other things.
I have to wonder what terms your even targeting and if any research has been done there? Methinks U are at the beginning of a long Journey ( or U can hire some one).... walk briskly my grasshopper.

You Thinks?
Me too.
I need to pick this apart and will have more questions. I already removed the article feed and deleted some pages, which were redundant, from the blog.
In the meantime... how did I ever make it to page 1 on Google with these sites? Curious.

The blog came back while I was sleeping; made a sale. (Wonder how long it will stick around?)

This is blurry to me. Back links-Inbound links. Same thing?
What does this mean?
You even put out some articles I see without targeting some back links.. tsk tsk

you are right= they are the same thing

i haven't seen the articles but my guess is that you did not add links to your sites in your articles or author bio (which is where you should put your links)

Hi again J
Ok.. you published some articles -- http://articlealley.com/article_146751_47.html -- http://www.articlecube.com/article.php? … ;act=print -- http://www.amazines.com/article_detail. … eid=235981 -- and so on...
The ounly outbound link you have is the site name 'Wears the Beach' - we want to 'target' that text with the term(s) we want to rank for on a search engine....
It is unlikely anyone is going to search for that term as U may imagine.
That's what I was talking about there.... :0)

OK, please bear with my stupidity. I am really trying.
Instead of hyperlinking 'Wears the Beach' in my signature of the article, I should be using my keywords to link to my URL? If yes, its too late for this particular article, correct?
and... when I use my own articles on my webpages, I should link back to one of the article publishing sites?

YES - we want our target terms as the text in links pointing to your site wherever possible - including article marketing/distribution.
As for putting a link back to the article sites.. I wouldn't bother with that really...

I changed the backlinks for 2 articles at about 20 different article directories.
These articles are 4 months old. Will it make a difference to spend more time doing this?
I am really disappointed in how this website project turned out. Is there any way I can salvage this site by building subdomains on beach related niche products or something like that? This again, would be all new to me, but I can't seem to make this project work.
Any ideas or suggestions?

G'day Jeannie.
I've had a bit of a look around your site and followed various trails around the internet. My word, there are some toots hanging out around the net!
It looks to me like your ranking troubles are due to duplicate content. Here are some things that you may wish to look at:
1) About half of your home page text content can be found on other sites on the web. The part that starts: UjENA is a designer swimwear manufacturer whose swimsuit collections include, bikinis,......
2) The content is found on many Ujena pages. In some cases it is hidden content: that is, white font on white background. No telling what other no, nos you are associated with.
3) I found the content on a free p0rn site.
4) Another site had it repeated many times.
5) You have your distribution articles duplicated on your own site.
6) Are other parts of your site lifted?
7) What about your articles? Are they lifted?
There's a lot more for you to come to terms with, but I think duplicate content versus unique content would be a good start.
Consider this, Jeannie:
You are in a very competitive, big money market. There are SEO experts out there making a couple of hundred thousand dollars a year because they are good enough to demand it. Do you expect you'll be able to enter the market and knock their clients off their perch in a few months with a mass produced website?
Well, if you can knock the big players off their perch, go get a job with The Gypsy. He'll pay you more than you'll ever make selling bikinis.
Don't let this break your spirit, Jeannie. There are ways for you to grasp your share of the market. It will take a lot of study and hard work.
Regards,
Laurie.
Great advice Laurie -- if I'd known Gypsy was that wealthy, I would've been selling bikini's a long time ago!

Ah TA! In my mind's eye, right now, I can see you escorting a bikini model down the catwalk.
Great sales look!
Regards,
Laurie.
Ok... now I know why I have been bombarded with penile enhancement emails...
What does "lifted" mean?
So, what can I do? I am so sick of this site now, which I did build myself. (shame)
Is there a way to start over? Can I dump this site, but spare my hosting account and find a way to work with the domain name? My hosting is paid for until February '08.
Thanks for being straight-up with me.
