My hosting service moved me to a new server in March, since then I'm experiecing down times. It's gotten really bad in the last 2 weeks. They tell me they are working on the problem while I am loosing traffic.
My site is php, MySQL. Web designer will move me once I find another host. I want fast page loads and the 99.9% uptime that everyone promises. I'm not looking for cheap hosting, but quality service. Thanks!
Welcome Connie -- I've been with the same hosting company for over 5 years, and they have a Guarantee regarding 99%+ uptime which I've found very true ... you might want to check them out...
Nice thing is this -- if you have a problem / question, they'll email you within 30 minutes.

Thank you, will check them out. I have never heard of them so they may be the best kept secret.
Was with ipower last year and lost my pages due to a server crawl. Went to site ground and had a good year until recently. I don't have the patience to wait for them to fix their problems, even though I'm paid through the end of the year.
I appreciate your reply!
You're welcome, young lady -- yes; they are a well-kept secret out of Houston, TX and are just downright awesome on service.

I've been looking at media-temple's grid servers - http://www.mediatemple.net/webhosting/gs/ ($20/month)
Not had to get it yet, but may get it for a high-power mail server or move some high traffic sites to it
If you don't want to spend $240/year on hosting then maybe try hostgator or powweb.com (powweb are going down in my estimation)
My really high end stuff is either on rackspace ($1000+ / month) or ev1 (now 'theplanet') from $80/month

GoDaddy.com. i have three sites up with them, havent had any downtime, support is excellent and the price is dirt cheap... they give you free email (1gig) even with their cheapest hosting which is nice when you consider most places charge you extra per mb.
My up and coming... soon to be real website... www.thewebguy.co.za (one day i will finish it
