Pay Per Click vs. Organic search
Just read the latest syndicated article on PPC vs. Organic search. Isn't it time that we as online marketers moved on?
Every full scale online marketing campaign should embrace both disciplines. Organic search via SEO may be the purists' preferred option but paid search offers wider and more immediate access to more terms. Secondly, traffic feedback from a paid campaign can be utilised to feed into an organic campaign.

Re: Pay Per Click vs. Organic search
I fully agree
In my dev team I'm the organic SEO guy, one of my co-workers is the adwords guy.
He aims to get our ads in the best position on adwords and I try to get the organic SERPs filled with our sites
It works

Re: Pay Per Click vs. Organic search
db,
A bit confused here. The author ends with go for both -- organic and PPC. How do you and he differ in your opinions?! (Other then you said it in a lot less sentences.

Re: Pay Per Click vs. Organic search
Atwhatcost,
appreciate your remarks regarding my concise approach.
My view is that the debate is over. Its like should you use advertising or PR if you want to do offline marketing? Or should you go for healthy eating or exercise if you want to lose weight? The obvious answer is you do both.
I have handled enough campaigns to see good quality paid traffic even when the client's website ranks highly organically for the same term.
The only question now is how to manage the mix. What share of your budget, what share of your people resource should you allocate to organic and paid search?
