Introduction
Hello!
My name is Patty and I very interest in learning the In's and outs of newsletters and E-Mail marketing. I wanted to join so I could lean about what is the correct way for sending out information without it being Spammed, deleted anything that might hurt my company.
Thank you,
Patty

Re: Introduction
Hi Patty,
hereīs my suggestion:
Put a "describe to our newsletter" form on your page (on the right top, so that visitors canīt overlook it.)
best regards
aknet

Re: Introduction
We have that on our site and people are signing up. What I want to learn is how best to reach my newsletter subscribers so they become customers also. On our old mall site we did newsletters, but we would send a link to the subscriber for them to read it on the mall...I don't think this is a good practice. I am afraid that most times they are just deleted. What do you think?
I want to use a newsletter form that is simple, one page would be best, that I can send to the subscriber. I think this is better than sending a teaser with a link, don't you? Is plain text best or do you think I could send some graphics?
I just checked my website..I see what you mean about putting it at the top..but we don't have any room..and we feel what comes before it is more important to the customers, don't you think? If they were not signing up, I would be very worried.
Thank you for bringing that to my attention though. I will keep a close watch on its placement and if its placement should be elsewhere.
Thanks,
Patty

Re: Introduction
Hi,
I would place some pictures and graphics to cause surprise and attention. A good way to keep the size of your newsletter small is too hotlink the pics.
If you want to send a bigger amount of newsletters, add a delay during the sending process (eg. send 10 emails, wait a moment send 10 more...), this keeps the providers mail-server spam-free and you donīt get banned.
Put in special-offers from time. I would use various headlines and try to keep the text width under 60 characters per line. Let your Corp. identity flow in and retain your layout.

Re: Introduction
So you are saying to reduce the size of the pictures I want to highlight considerable..then a hotlink below it for more information..
I didn't think about sending only 10 newsletters at a time..this keeps the mail server from considering me spam..thank you!
What we are planning on doing is have a monthly newsletter highlighting events on the mall, discuss a 'how to' about jewelry and highlight new designers that have joined the mall since the last newsletter.
Then we plan on sending weekly half page newsletters about specials, maybe auctions..fun things that are going on at the mall..I plan on keeping the pictures at a mininum..sending a link instead. How does this sound?
Thanks,
Patty
