Sure! Lots of ways! That's one of the main themes for Site Reference articles, and they also have a section on this forum for that exact topic. I suspect, by your question, that you already know the abbreviation, but, just in case, think "SEO" (Search Engine Optimizing). Go back up to the Index for this forum, then scroll down to the section that says something close to "SEO Techniques and Tips." The Gypsy has just added two threads -- one about the abbreviations, and one about the tools and resources to check out.
You also might want to buy his e-book, since it gives a good description of what SEO companies do, and might well convince you to buy his service, if you can afford to, because, well, dang -- it's hard work doing it on our own. (That fact seems to want to stick under my skin every day in new ways anymore.
) And no, I don't work for him, nor am I an affiliate, just have received lots of lessons from him over the last few months.

G'day urbanthreadz.
I think that what you want is to increase your ranking in the search engine results pages (SERPs) in the various search engines. I've guessed this, your terms being rather mixed up through lack of understanding.
However, it often happens that new webmasters read, that in order to get better rankings, they need to make posts to forums and thus get backlinks. If this is your game, your wasting your time here. Post to a clothing sales forum.
If, however, you are for real, look carefuly at Mr Stitch's post and come up with an answer. As already stated, it's all in the forum and articles. Just read the posts and articles on a daily basis and you'll find the answers.
You should submit your site for a website review. A review will highlight many shortcomings of your work. A lot of work ahead of you, Mate!
Regards,
Laurie.

The heart of Google search algorithm is PageRank, a system for ranking web pages. Though engineers at Googleplex are working hard to improve every aspect of Google on a daily basis, PageRank continues to provide the basis for all of their web search tools.

Lets leave it because its always fun to let them show off their intelligence. People will come to associate the sites in their signatures with their skill sets.
Next thing we will see is that the heart of Google's search technology is PigeonRank http://www.google.com/technology/pigeonrank.html
Not to be confused with LambdaRank which is real cool. (go on Lauri, Google LambdaRank)

Oh Charles! You're putting me on, Mate.
Caml Search! Huh! Godi Search. Huh!
I read through half of that page of junk, just to find out that my leg had been pulled.
It has such an amateur feel to it, I thought it just had to be some clever but unsophisticated programmer.

I'm doubly impressed with both of ya -- I couldn't get past the first page of the PDF, and got nervous seeing it downloading, so cont/alt/del in a heartbeat. I did notice 256 references to lambdarank, but I think my computer is just refusing to go to crap -- well, most crap. I did discover I can easily offer the same "guarantees" as our latest fly-by-spammer! If my mind wasn't so full of those annoying morals, I could be selling all sorts of stuff that people can get for free, or didn't want in the first place.

This thread is fun.
Anyway, to answer the original question, you can start submitting articles to articles directories with your bylines in it. Submit your site to online directory. Advertise your site on free ad sites with links pointing to your site and join forums like this to learn other tricks and techniques. And don't forget to include your signature in every post.
Hope it helps.
Just build relevant and quality backlinks as much as you can. This is the only way to get high PR and high rankings in SERP.
Best of luck.

Hi Urban,
Why do you want to increase PR? There are only two advantages for PR these days. It is good to have a high PR if you are going to sell a site. This is because people still think it important. The other reason is if you are going to sell links, which could get your site banned.
I would focus only search rankings and conversions.

<--------This smiley needs to have a horse being smashed.
This thread has been beating a dead horse so long and so repetatively that there is no horse left -- not even a bloody pulp. "The parrot is dead, deceased, an ex-parrot...."
Why are people giving the same answers to someone, who, not only was claiming to be a SEO expert, but no longer is on this board and no longer even has a website? (And, the answers are rather repetative. too.)

Please let this thread die. It lost its 15 minutes of fame over half a year ago. Save finger muscles. Check out the whole thread before "helping" the dude.
