I am interested in adding a search feature to our website, [ URL removed ]. I understand that I have the option of one set-up by our site's provider (in this case not feasable, for reasons I'll skip) or to use a third party search feature, such as Google and others, free of fee based.
I want ad-free results, and results integrated into our site's template. Our site is a large (600 pages plus) non commercial information site.
Can anyone give suggestions of reputable search providers who can do so for free or at a reasonable price, with the above constraints considered?
On another note, we today have redone our home page using some CSS techniques to allow text to "wrap" around the top graphic of a statue. In the browsers which I have tested the page on it looks fine--IE 7 and Firefox for PC's, Firefox and Safari for Macs. Are there some commonly used, up to date browsers that any readers out there are using where there are obvious display problems on the top part of the page?

As I understand your servers runs asp and you can find an asp search script. In sourceforge I think you can find such search scripts or Java searchbox tools.

or you could just add the google, msn or yahoo snippets of java into your pages. They are add free and let people search your site in the search engines environment, just make sure your links are all capable of being followed. That really is the simplest "ad free" option.

Friends,
I have found an excellent solution. Google site search, which I had originally discounted because of the ads in the results, now has an ad-free and free version for non-profits, and they give the coding to fit the results into your page templates. I couldn't be happier with the results.
