I'm checking my mail, and I get this message from a local printing company that's doing some work in the near future for us.
Granted, this company has been around for quite some time, and they DO do a great job. Always timely, the product is very professional, and the cost is competitive. However, a nerve just snapped when I opened the message.
There, in my box, from the self proclaimed 'Senior Marketing Representative' was a message that would make the eyes in your skull melt. It has clouds for a background (possibly that jpg with win95??), and the text is some sort of green comic sans.... bold.
Now, I don't know what everyone elses e'mail looks like, nor does it probably matter for the most part here, but... if you were part of an organization thats well known in the area for professionalism, don't you think that the written communication be just as professional as the artwork you produce?
During my business career, I've always felt that the communication you present will paint a picture of the type of person you are, which is passed onto the company image.
So if you're running some kind of web development company, SEO company, or any on-line business that's viewed as the authority source, be sure you AND your staff aren't stuffing mail box's with tacky garbage. You'll get the same in return.

I totally agree!
In our business image is everything. It doesn't stop with email. You should see some of the CV's/resumés I receive. I get so many using comic sans & Times New Roman. Nothing lines up, the spacing is screwed and they don't bother with spellchecker. Its like "These are some of the websights I have done..." Websights?
How can these people expect to be hired with how poorly they market themselves?
