My boss just got back from new york... and apparently they have apple pc's in the airports in that side of the world, so he got a hold of one and looked at Lalibela's website... apparently the graphics were distorted and everything was outa place
could it just be the browser on the mac or is it macs in general? Unfortunately i dont have a mac (unfortunately..ha ha
) so could anyone out there tell me what my site looks like on the apple side? How do i fix what i cant see?
How many people actually crawl the net with mac's anyway? i know they "have" internet capabilities but isnt it kinda like cellphone internet... nice to have but only "really" there to download emails?

Old Mac OS kind of sucked, but MacOS X makes windows Vista look like a bad joke.
btw, Safari browser on MacOS X is the best webbrowser going today.

ha ha ha - it doesn't need a right click
maybe if windows was designed with as much thoughtfullness as Apple it wouldn't need it either
by the way, you can use a 2 button or 3 button mouse with OSX if you insist on getting carpal tunnel syndrome

a three button button mouse on a mac? Windows generally sucks so how can anyone take a an operating sytem seriously when it copies windows? sheesh wheres the creativity! j/k
Na, i cant knock em to much, i just hope the new OSx is more stable than the last mac os, ive seen some new macs at our advertising company go down... its messy to say the least. I dont think i could ever get used to the idea of using a computer that cant be modified by me personally, i think that may be the biggest attraction to a pc for me - the ability to upgrade and manipulate the hardware in being whatever i want it to be.... kinda like having a mustang gt as opposed to smart car. Its more work but so much more fun.

I loved OS9, ran with the beta for OSX and it was too much for my old machine. My brother has a Mac running OSX and I use it when I'm visiting. OSX rocks, I love it.
Safari sucks. It crashes too often, too many sites make it crash, you can't buy airline tickets or anything on it as many if not most e-commerce sites don't even know about it, let alone test for it.
I love the way Safari renders pages, they just look better but the way it works sucks. I'll stick to Windows and Firefox and less crashes till I get a Mac Mini for testing and compatibility.
Sometimes if my brother wants to buy something on line he has to ring me to get it sorted on a Windows machine.
(Speaking of Apple, I just had four ipods turn up here today! We're giving them away to lucky customers!)

I did exactly what you have done when I first tried it. 30 minutes passed and it only showed 7 screen shots. So I decided to break it into sets...

its kind of cool seeing your entire page on the screen without scrollbars
I've never seen my page like that before
it makes me wonder, I wonder if having a really tall page that requires scrollbars is bad ?

Back up the bus here for a minute....
I don't know anything about mac's but I've been seriously thinking about trying them as I've heard so many good reviews.
But it sounds like a different story in this thread....
You can't upgrade a mac? What if I need better video for the new hot games?
They crash? Just as often as windows?
Can't shop at certain on-line stores because of incompatibility?
Fill me in please.

Stitch,
If I'm reading these posts right, they're talking about two things together -- Macs and their browser named "Safari."
Macs aren't upgradable and only need one button on the mouse.
Safari, which seems to be Mac's version of an internal browser -- crashes more often then IE, and, since MS all but monopolizes the way folks see the Internet, merchants don't even consider setting up their sites for the convience of Mac users.
I've never used a Mac, and figured Mac is to IBM compatible as WordPerfect is to Word -- whatever you started learning computers on, is the platform you'll always be the most comfortable with, even if most folks think they have the better choice. With that I'm not going to comment on which one sounds the most reasonable for me, especially since I pretty much just did. LOL

I understand that the browser crashes all the time (major problem there), but what about the OS?
Does it crash just as often as window's does?

Here's the deal. Mac used to make Mac OS that was kind of crap. Mac OS 7-9 total junk. Mac OS X is a rewrite based on a Mach unix type kernal and BSD user land with Apple's eye candy goodies stacked on top of that.
The OS doesn't crash. Applications may crash, but the OS crashing is just not something you could do if you tried.
You won't need better video for the hot new games because a. Apple comes with Top of the line Video anyway, and b. There generally aren't games available for Mac, and the ones that are available don't require high end video.
You can upgrade them, but you've got to upgrade them with Mac parts, you can't just go buy generic PC parts and stick them in with the exception of harddrives and some USB stuff. USB keyboards and mice work fine, harddrives probably work, soundcards & videocards - no sorry.
The only real downside to Macs is that they're more expensive than a PC, but the other side of that is that you usually get more with a Mac than you do with a PC anyway.
