I'd like to say congratulations for getting the new layout done and on your site. It looks great. I think it's a big improvement from the last design and in fact makes me kind of jealous =P
Thank you PD- much appreciated!
With the site, the forums and the newsletter to update all in 1 day we were going crazy, but we have "almost" of the issues sorted out (there's about a dozen small ones we will have to revisit tomorrow)
if anyone can find a FUNCTIONALITY or CODING issue could you please let me know via PM.
thanks again PD and I hope once we get it finalized most (sure not everyone) will enjoy it as well!

content text on the main site and in the articles is a bit small in my opinion. Also the gap between the newsletter and featured article boxes seems a little wide.

couldn't work out what everyone was on about, and almost posted a 'i don't see a difference' post
Then i decided to do a total refresh (ctrl+F5) to force a refresh of the stylesheets as well - and, hey presto...... a turtle on a laptop??? trying to say something about the speed of your user's nic? j/k
To be really honest - it looks like you have borders missing

The border thing is how the designer rendered the page initially. We changed some stuff on the left hand side which makes it look more like borders are missing...maybe we can get some of that stuff back.
Keep the feedback coming!

WOW...i dont visit the site for a week and I return to a new site...for a second I thought I mistyped the url. I may not be in place to give feedback on the design and layout, but i want too and well...its the world wide web, so i can :-D I would much rather prefer the old design, I liked the way it was simple and clean and loaded extremely fast. Don't get me wrong, I love the design of the site, but I just got too used to the old layout. Overall, Design work is great, layout and placement is great...i just like the old design better for simplicity reasons. but anyway, congrats on getting it all done, especailly in one day...geez....cheers

My parody on the new logo:

My tortoise woke up three months early so she's inside keeping warm!
Nic, I sent a bug report PM, it's looking okay, different on the eyes and will maybe take a little getting used to but I think it's a step in the right direction and pretty cool.

background colour for me is a bit solid (now that I refresh also and see there are the changes on the forum as well).
Mouseovers on the active discussions need to be more pronounced in my view.

Out with the professional and in with the disney.
New logo's cool, but the tortoise?? Please lose the tortoise!!!
And the homepage looks like a blog.
first article "How Smart Web Designers Screw Up Your SEO"
should be "How Smart Web Designers Screw Up Your SR"
Just my opinion of course, but I don't like it much. Good job theres good content and an excellent user base.

I like the new color scheme, but have to say that my first thought was that the layout resembled a blog.
Lets say that my thumb is sideways with the turtle.

Wow! We get to site review the site review place..
Agree that the mouseover on topics doesn't contrast much.
Your min width is going to have some people scrolling sideways (800 x 600 & 1024 x 768 w/favorites)
I like the logo.
I'm going to have to have to put a "sticky" over the turtle, which will interfere with gaming...
I might match the header green to the title green.
Kudos for shaking things up a little.

About heir turtle...I actually fought with the designer on this for quite a while. All I can say is this: give him a chance...he grows on you.

Like we all need an extra shell
Have a look at the top of the active discussion box - the green bit - does not line up at all well with the main centre column heading (of course with adblock on - there may be an ad in their I don't know about
)

OK, someone had to say it...might as well be me -- "going crazy," as in, you don't think you're there yet?
I like the turtle. If you name him and give him a story, folks will like him more quickly!
The old design seemed to suggest Spartan like, bare-minimum, no nonsense business. This is a tadbit warmer, although still business like. The turtle adds a slight touch of whimsy, like an office with Hawaian Shirt Friday. (Hmmm, do you know where to get yours?
)
I have noticed something I used often is now missing -- search for articles. However will I learn, if I cannot do a complete search on LSI or article writing or Dos and Don'ts of web site design?
Also, never thought I was addicted to this place, until I got the dreadful "Working on system, come back later" message, when I tried doing my morning ritual -- an article with my bowl of cereal. You said you got more work to do today?! Not a problem this time. Insomnia! That bowl of cereal will be afternoon.
All in all, you get a four out of five
(Giving me back my article search gives you that fifth star!)

looks half finished
You've put some fluffy stuff round the bulk of it, which isn't fully but still looks ok.
The green and blue clash with the grey that's been left behind
Breadcrumbs have little contrast and make it look like the active discussion list is too high
Don't recognise the logo from the competition..............

Come on, what IS the story with the tortoise?
Whats his name? what does he represent?

Maybe it's a symbolism -- people are slow so they use their handy laptops/desktops to speed things up? Poor attempt I know but I couldn't think of anything else.
Anyway, I see the forum style has been updated. It looks nice. Has a very warm feeling to it and makes me feel right at home.
I'm a bit short on time so will look and see if I can find any quirks in the new design.
Regards.
