I plan to sign up for a linux VPS and set about reworking the few .asp/IIS sites I have as I move them over (different host as well..).
Is there any consensus, (....pause for laughter to subside), on which is a better interface cPanel or Plesk? I couldn't see much difference from their respective demos.
I'm just after better reliability and speed, not reseller activity or such.
Thanks -

I have found plesk to be more stable
but that may just have been the server

That's the second time I've heard that, and Plesk seems to be the direction I'm headed.
Thanks for your opinion.
It seemed a good idea to ask here, since here is where I'll probably bring the questions...
My host apparently doesn't provide Plesk -- what's the difference / advantages between the two?

I think plesk costs more. also provides better scalability for resellers etc.
the equivalent reseller for cpanel is whm (web host manager)

On this VPS package, the two are the same price.
Both seem to have a good reputation, with people generally prefering the one they have experience with.
It sounds like cPanel might have an easier (more intuitive interface) and few more features than Plesk which I've heard a few times might be marginally more stable?
As I understand it, cPanel supports MySQL 5.0 and Plesk does not at this time. (I know little enough about MySQL databases, just that some of the newer features available with later versions seem like something to have when I get my feet wet).
I'm switching from Windows/Access to Linux/MySQL at the same time. I don't want it any more complicated than necessary

Plesk seems to have a bit more control (definately better suited to resellers), and cpanel seemed a bit more intuative. I can't say I've noticed any speed/stability differences betweeen the two. cPanel seems to be favored on the less expensive shared hosting. I think if they were the same price I'd go for plesk just so I had the extra features should I need it in the future.
