Thank you, Tim. I prefer to look you right in the eye. I'm not one to "look down" on anyone.
I'm sure someone will be along to let you know when the server switch is turned on.

I truly am sorry your experience at RZ wasn't any better. Honestly I didn't see much that wasn't positive in that discussion. There were a few posts that for whatever reason didn't come across the way I believe they were intended and thats sad. For your members and yourself, there is a spin off forum located athttp://www.dummies-guide-to-dmoz.org/phpbb2/
which is administrated/moderated by current and former editors that may be useful. Note, neither RZ or DGTD are official extensions of dmoz but rather unofficial forums moderated by some of the volunteer editors. I more frequently visit RZ, mainly because DGTD has just been established and there are still things that need worked out but I have on occasion managed a few posts over there. They both are trying (I think) to accomplish the same things but going about it from different angles. I won't say which one is best because I think it depends on the questions being asked and who is responding but it may be a fresh view of things if you want to try.
@blue you misquoted me as usual- That's 50% pretend-meta.(just a funnier way of saying I am not a real meta just play one in Regional)

Re: SiteReference on Resource Zone!
Hi waveshoppe,
I do not visit DGTDmoz, so take this for the assumption that it is.
It's common to have areas of forums that are not accessible to the general public. If I were to make an assumption, I'd bet this forum has one, too. I know I have one in the small forum I maintain for friends- not really a big deal.
If I can make one observation- on my forum, the fact that I have a private area is only visible to members of the group who have permissions to visit it. No secret society holding clandestine meetings, just routine stuff that frankly most visitors wouldn't be interested in anyway.

It is possible to find out what is inside that private chat area - all you have to do is become an editor. (Consider it a recruitment tool
)
Of course, if the only reason that you become an editor is to find out what's in the private chat area - then I can guarantee you'll be very disappointed.

Re: SiteReference on Resource Zone!
No thanks it’s not something I want to be affiliated with. I already edit in a few popular directories and I am happy with having things just the way they are.

It was just an alternative suggestion for those who haven't found much use for RZ. If one wants to try and get some more information and RZ isn't working for them this is an alternative. As I mentioned, DGTD is just getting started and see a couple of things that steer me personally in other directions at this point but the underlying principal is to help from a different angle than RZ currently does. The administrators and moderators there (both the current and former editors) all have earned my respect for their abilities, knowledge and character. Hopefully there efforts will help some that need it.

Re: SiteReference on Resource Zone!
Tim,
I told you we'd be back with news. Quick update on DMOZ:
Editor server is back up, editing resumed yesterday.
Abuse reporting, site submissions, and editor applications are still not functional, but I'd expect them to be up and running soon.
There has been a lot of rumor and speculation about the outage and subsequent recovery. Please consider them as just that- rumors and speculation. From what I can see, we have retained most of our editors, who are very active with new listings and quality control issues. Public page regeneration seems to be lagging a bit- of course, it usually took a day or three for this anyway.
Blue.

Re: SiteReference on Resource Zone!
Time for another update about recovery from the DMOZ crash.
Site submissions and update rquests are now functional.
Abuse reporting, editor applications, and editor feedback are still disabled. At this time, we have no ETA of their return.

Re: SiteReference on Resource Zone!
from what I hear there is so much corruption there that is it worth bothering with??
I have submitted sites YEARS ago and they never get listed. Plus for another site I type in the keyword, they appear THREE times in the first two pages
