Open Source does not equal Free.
The scripts written in ASP and PHP can both be distributed as open source, or they can be encrypted and distributed
Generally speaking;
PHP developers will develop open source products (code packages) that are either distributed free of charge, or can be sold. The recipient may or may not have modification or resale rights - this depends on the licence, but development and redistribution is usually encouraged by PHP developers
ASP developers usually work for a corporation and get paid to develop bespoke in house products, or charge their services out in web development. Very few ASP developers freely distribute their code

precisely... but Joomla aside from being free is opensource. some 3rd party components, modules, and plugins are also released to the public for free, but some have commercial licenses.
and back to the question about joomla in asp codes, I haven't heard a thing of that sort exists, but i could be wrong. as Northie has explained, we seldom see asp codes specially a complete cms, distirbuted for free...

Why do you want to require it to use ASP ?
I would pick a good opensource CMS and then just install PHP too.
ASP sucks.

Just goes to show - you should know soemthing about an industry sector before going blindly into it.
I am extremely numerate, but I'm not an accountant
I can buy timber and make furniture, but I'd never set up shop as a carpenter

i think Joomla (PHP) would run on your server... i run Joomla in localhost (my computer running in win xp pro) using a pre-compiled apache, mysql, and php environment, and it works just great.
but you can contact your hosting provider for a more sure answer. or you can check your cpanel for fantastico, then check the available scripts. mine does have a joomla installer already.
but as you have posted here, PHP is supported by your hosting server...

echo!
Maybe read through some of joomlas requirements and check the more technical stuff with your server; for example -
abaility to use .htaccess (some hosts don't give you permission to modify it)
if the mod_rewritre engine is intsalled (not all linux/apache build have this)

I think i'll get back to you guys after checking it with my hosting provider.
Thanks for your help for now!!
