I just realized something.... the 'link' command at msn returns different results (for my site at least), depending on if you use www.xxxx.com or http://www.xxxx.com
Anyone else get the same thing?
Hope this isn't affecting my rankings.....

I doubt it... most engines are getting better at reading it as well as multiple home pages etc.. seems to be improving from various comments..
Speaking of Good Ol MSN/Live there are grumblings about them hammering bad recips;

It’s quite a rollercoaster ride on MSN so all you can really do is ride it out. If they are making significant changes I would imagine that it will take time for the dust to settle. How come we never discuss Yahoo?????

It is... i went from 400 to 938 links.. now im down 898. i know its forums etc but it amazes me how quickly msn picks up and drops links. Literally every few hours it changes.
Yahoo is a much more gradual change.. like a sloth... it only kinda changes every now and then... nothing interesting.
So Msn is talked about because its the village bicycle (everyone gets a ride) , Google because its a mission to even get it to acknowledge your existence (like trying to get a priest to buy condoms for the local abbortion clinic) and Yahoo isnt... because its boring... like watching a pigeon eat crumbs... interesting and nice to see every now and then.... but not very interseting to look at most of the time.
At least thats the reasoning im going with.

same observation with MSN... last week me latest website averages 120 links. just today i dropped to 12! yahoo is steady on the 100+ mark... google doesn't seem to know the website yet though it eats up much of my bandwidth...

On a new site of mine I have managed to acquire about 100 relevant one way links over the last 6 weeks
until yesterday msn was only showing 12. Over the course of about 1 hour - as I sat and watched - it climbed up to 94. "wow" I was thinking, as every 5 minutes I hit refresh, saw the number increase and I could go and inspect them................then...............back to 12, and there it has stayed for the last 12 hours
...........these aren't recips I'm talking about either
