Hi All,
The point is simple: how can we trust google pagerank if the score is based on political-economic-commercial-financial interests of an arrogant web-power-elite?
I would like to take an example: site-reference website. Please be aware I am not connected with it and I only consider site-reference as an excellent source of working web democracy.
We all find useful site-reference as a genuine forum for webmaster, we here find useful information and share knowledge with no business purposes.
If you check site-reference on Alexa, it looks among the top 3,500 sites in the world, a quite high achievement for a specific tech site.
And guess what? The Google page rank is ZERO!
This has an effect on how to find site-reference on google, and most important, how to find the site-reference content on google: being its content of business meaning (seo tips, subjects about upsetting google works in various debates and articles, etc), I suspect the page rank is based on internal judgements by Google, based on the logic of containment from the TOP the exploding web community from the bottom.
I do not mention other example and would like to know your opinion about. I wish we can stop bother about Google, Dmoz and many other as sources to trust.
Regards
John
Personally, I and many others don't place any stock in PR rank -- it was a Goo-Goo joke that went bad.

yeah... you should have a chat to gypsy.... he will beat the PR bug out of you
(sorry... just quit smoking, seeing anything get beatin would make my day - people with dirty minds(like mine) ignore that comment)) Its unfortunately something they wouldnt be able to do anything about even if they wanted to... as the lore goes.. pr is a a set of equations and bots etc with no human interference.
This makes lodging complaints a tad difficult, you can email and complain to the support but thats more for advice and killing spam sites... dead.. in there tracks... dead.
My up and coming... soon to be real website... www.thewebguy.co.za (one day i will finish it

This is a good example of the ol ‘Google Sucks’ attitude…. To start with no one has to use it for search nor optimize for it… they do though.. so I must. He he
Anyway there my friend, Site Reference was the master of its own demise through some mistakes that were made. I have worked with Mark and Nic to rectify them and I hope to see its PR jump to its rightful place and SERPs returning to normal.
So there was no mean Google, just mistakes made on the webmasters part. It happens.
Oh and YES, ToolBar PageRank isn’t really all that accurate…just a toy to keep SEO folks busy… lol
I doubt G really wants to give these Guys PR…. But they do….lol ; --PR5 ...niiiiccceeee

Really its pretty much diluted down to back links and pages indexed....
Unless one is big into the Link Selling world, ToolBar Page rank has little practical value in SEO....
More perspective here; http://forums.site-reference.com/topic/ … mystified/
