Anyone else have poor rankings there?

I'm also trying to find an on-line tool to help me locate my site for certain search terms on MSN.

They seem to be changing their algorithms like the wind and usually don’t deliver much traffic because the results have not been very relevant, so I wouldn’t spend much time worrying about MSN. Yahoo has been serving up relevant results so that’s where I would spend my time.

Not sure what you are asking "I'm also trying to find an on-line tool to help me locate my site for certain search terms on MSN." just search MSN Live for your search terms and if you drill down deep enough you should find it. But I think sites with commercial intent are going to out perform blogs and social networks.

I wonder if MSN is ever going to figure something out? Crazy results....

I doubt it, like the rest of them, all self-serving. Microsoft cant roll out anything without it being followed by a thousand patches and updates, so why would their search be any different?

I find that MSN is pretty easy to get good rankings, but its really not worth the effort unless you are looking at entertainment/hobby type of sites. In MS's defense, they did just join the search game a few years ago.  Sure, their results are crap right now, but they are not bad given their late start.

I have been under the weather lately, so I haven't monitored it closely, but there is rumblings of a recent update at MSN/Live

Things have been a bit nuts there lately though since July or so....

We actually do quite well ranking wise in MSN, the traffic is generally negligable unless you have a 'money term' in the market

I'm seeing MSN's results going up & down like nobody's business. Since they launched the "Live" search it seems to totally change throughout the day. I can be on page one for a keyword in the morning, and not even in the first 5 pages later the same day.

At the moment, given the imaturity of their algorythm, they're by far the easiest to get a high position on.

I dropped from #1 to #3 for the term 'web development contractor' (without the quotes). If you look at #1 you'll see the keywords in the url so it seems that is of some importance.

While my other site still ranks #1 and now #2 for 'web ranking consultants' (without the quotes), but THAT site has the keywords in the URL.
