I use RSS feeds and an article I read suggested I ping the sites that have my feed to alert them to updates.
I use XML-RPG type but I don't have a clue.
How do you do this.

For XML-RPC something like this..
["xmlrpc://rssrpc.weblogs.com/RPC2"].rssUpdate ("MyFeedName", "http://mysite.com/myfeed.rss")
depends who you are pinging though... pinging yahoo is lots easier for example.
TombOfTheMutilated.NET - Destroying The Minds of America's Youth Since 2001
["xmlrpc://rssrpc.weblogs.com/RPC2"].rssUpdate ("MyFeedName", "http://mysite.com/myfeed.rss")
So mine would look like this if I were pinging Syndic8.com,
["xmlrpc://rssrpc.syndic8.com/RPC2"].rssUpdate ("Good News Letter", "http://www.believer.com/paul/rss.xml")
Where does this get posted to, or in what doc do I put it and where?
At the Syndic8 site they give this info for pinging.
weblogUpdates.extendedPing
* string SiteName
* string SiteURL
* string Unknown
* string DataURL
Status message This function accepts notification of a change at the given feed as specified by the DataURL.
How does this work is it a unique file or is it inside the rss.xml file?
Thanks for your help in advance.
