If you're pages are made with some kind of server side scripting, I know of a company that will pay for simple text links.  They pay pretty good, and you just add a little scripting to your pages and you're done.  The company sells the links, updates your links, and there is really nothing else for you to do but enjoy your checks.

If you've got good PR or good Alexa ranking(s) then they pay really well.

If so what if you're a publisher with site-wide links, it seems now they only have a link count of one or two which makes me ask if it has a devaluing effect on your sites outward bound links ranking?

Saying that though Mutilated, you're right, nice extra revenue for nothing if you have a decent PR and Alexa but if Google places less emphasis on your outward bound links ranking is it worth it? I'm in two minds to pull our text link ads back to the index only rather than site wide.

We don't do banners or graphical advertising now, just text links and Adwords, that with the stuff we actually sell of course!

its worth it as a publisher, as someone purchasing the links - well thats something you have to decide for yourself

I myself personally would never pay money for a text link, but thats cause its not really worth anything to me

I kind of doubt that it hurts anything about having them site wide on my pages, because I've kind of got a load of links on my pages to begin with, so adding a for pay link amounts to like 1% more links or something - not anything that will make a difference you can measure
